Spring To Finish ... what I finished...

Hi Everyone,

I joined Jacquie In the Spring To Finish Challenge today is the day to say what we finished in May. Here are my goals as posted for the challenge:

1. Finish Wonky Log Cabin top

2. Finish Tic Tac Toe Top

3. Finish Christmas quilt including binding

4. Quilt one quilt on my quilting frame (it is brand new and I am a little intimidated)

Goal #1

Goal #2

Goal #3  (quilted but binding not on... probably has something to do with being bored with it)

Goal #4 Yep, I did it...( excuse the threads that aren't cut yet) see below for all of the other things I got done.

Once these were done I was having so much furn with the frame and quilting machine I used it to quilt my two swaps (a quilt and a pillow).

I also finished my Pinwheel Sampler quilt top:

And my 12 Days of Christmas quilt top:

I no longer have any unfinished quilt tops hanging around (except my quilt along ones) it feels great to have these all done and out of the "To be completed" box into the "To be quilted" box.

A couple swap things and Christmas in May

Hi Everyone....

I will get the most important part in first. I am having a give-away. Have you ever had a line of fabric that you made so much out of that you hoped you never saw another piece of it again? I have a couple and each week until I get tired of it I will give a scrap bag of them away. This is definitely the largest of the bags (I think) Figgy Pudding... I made a Gazillion things with it and I am sick of it... There is yardage and a pile of good size scraps including jelly roll strips and layer cake pieces. Just leave me a comment about anything to be entered to win ( think there is at least 2 yards of yardage here (maybe more) but I can't swear it because I don't feel like measuring)... I will pick a winner Friday the 21st.

Here is the sneak peek of my Pillow Talk pillow...I posted this on Flickr so if you already saw it sorry :)

And here is the mini quilt for the Modify Tradition swap... I really hope she likes it.

Talk soon.

A few swap stuffs...

Hi Everyone...

I have been working on my quilt alongs and a couple of swap. I haven't started anything new from scratch in a while but I am kind of liking things a little low key right now. I have a quilt 1/3 quilted on the frame (big win for me) and a bunch back logged waiting for their turns.

I joined Heather's "Handsome Hexies" group on flickr and while my daughter was in SAT testing last week I made these:

A few of them will work in my design for the Pillow Talk Swap so that is exciting. A few more to make for that from Neptune (her favorite fabric line). Here is my pathetic stash of Neptune:

Needless to say it is slim pickins :)

I finished my Jelly Roll Quilt Along block #6:

Here is a little secret... I am going to do a giveaway. In a day or two I will post about it. It has been way too long since I gave something away.

Talk soon...

Modify Tradition Swap

If you are not my swap partner. Then you probably don't need to read this :) but you can if you want.

Hi Partner,

Thanks for coming by. Thanks for making me something. I am so happy that you are.

I love everything. I love modern fabrics. Some of my favorite designers are Joel Dewberry, Heather Bailey, Amy Butler and Tina Givens. I have a feeling you love them too. My favorite color combos right now are orange with black and white, teal and red or lime, cobalt and green, and grey with bright colors. I also like scrappy bright things like Red Pepper quilts makes. I am certain that whatever pattern or block you pick out I will love it. I am a strong believer that if you are using strong color you can use a simple pattern and have extraordinary results. Most of all Have Fun... I would hate it if you had to grind your teeth to work on something for me. Thank you again!

Here is a picture of the fabrics I am using for my partner... she likes scrappy and I figure 48 different fabrics is pretty scrappy.
