New Play Crafts Palette Builder

Hi Everyone,

I am so excited that I get to bring you a sneaky pre-view of Play Crafts new Palette Builder... you know how much I enjoy messing with their software.... What I love most about the new version is that you get to choose which colors it picks up... so say you have a gorgeous picture with a lot of blue sky you can pick one or two blues then choose other colors... well you will see when you play with it... Here is a link: http://www.play-crafts.com/blog/palettebuilder2/

* If you're using IE, need IE 10+, but does work with chrome, firefox,
safari. Doesn't work with mobile/ipad yet.

Here is a palette I made with it:

This is what it looked like when I uploaded the picture first. It had chosen mostly greys and I wanted to get some of the green so I moved the pickers (that is what I am calling them LOL) to the items I wanted it to choose. There are little circles you can drag to the places where you want it to pick up a color.

Here are some items from the group at Play-Crafts:

* There are a couple of other features still coming, but we wanted
people to be able to play with it now.

* Feel free to share palettes in the play crafts flickr
group:www.flickr.com/groups/1933715@N24/

* Please let us know if there are any issues, concerns or comments
using the feedback button or emailing directly to anne@play-crafts.com

Go forth and procrastinate :) and make pretty pictures.

Friday Fun Day and the Giveaway....

Hi Everyone,

I hope you have all kinds of fun up your sleeves for the weekend. I am going to the first concert of the outdoor concert season tonight. It is my favorite venue, an amphitheatre close to here (Shoreline for those that are curious). I love how there is nary a bad seat in the house and the fact that I have been there so many times that I don't get nervous about logistics anymore. (Oh didn't you know I am a worry wart and control freak?) So bring on the Lady Antebellum ... for those that aren't country music fans one of the lead singers is extremely prego so we might get to see her sitting through most of the concert hehe

So are you ready to see what we are giving away? I asked our host which of the stacks of Glimma she liked best and this is what she chose:

So this is what we are giving away. A fat quarter each of these awesome neutral colors. So head on over to Australia and visit Ms. Midge and try to win a little of this.

Tomorrow is the meeting of the Tula Pink Quilting club we are gonna work on BOM blocks. Come on down if you are local and want to participate.

Have a super weekend!

Field Study Linen Is Back

and I added a few more prints too...here

Blog Vomit

I figure if everyone can go around calling their quilts Scrap Vomit I can call this blog vomit. It is just a fast a furious list of all the stuff swirling around in my head this week.

Two great causes, and two great MQGs, that you might like to consider:

I found all of the info on this on Maureen's blog so hop on over to take a look.

Info can be found here at the Vancouver MQG page

I am super excited that Art Gallery Fabrics has snatched up one of my favorite designers. Leah Duncan is great and I can't wait to see what this collaboration brings us. First off is Tule:

Speaking of Art Gallery I am sure you have all seen the competition they are having with Angela Walter's Textures Right Angle Panel but thought I would mention it just in case.

You can find the info here.

There is so much more... will hurl it at you tomorrow :)

Friday Fun Day, Tula Pink Block of the Month, and a Giveaway

Hi Everyone,

So much fun going on right now! Look what showed up at the shop on Wednesday:

It got here at 3pm, and by close of business half of my initial order of 10 books was gone.

Every single page in this book is a work of art. Look at Miss Tula's gorgeous drawings...

Block of the Month Club!

So we are starting a Block of the Month using this beautiful book! Each month we will make 10 blocks from the book to showcase. If you decide to join us, you will receive the 10 fabrics that we use for our blocks. These are small blocks, so they are easily made with fat eighths. If you are like me, you might want a little more of the fabrics just to keep for your stash. So we'll have both fat quarter and fat eighth subscription options. Each month's shipment will include a selection of the shop's newest fabrics, Tula Pink fabrics, and blenders.

Here are the options for the block of the month:

1. 10 Fat Quarter Option, Pre-paid for the ten-month-long BOM (100 FQs total).  Tula Pink's 100 Modern Quilt Blocks Book included for free. $270 includes shipping in the US (international please contact us for shipping options). You can buy it here

2. 10 Fat Eighth Option, Pre-paid for the ten-month-long BOM (100 F8s total). Tula Pink's 100 Modern Quilt Blocks Book included at 25% off. $165 includes shipping in the US (international please contact us for shipping options). You can buy it here

3. 10 Fat Quarter month-to-month option. Paid monthly by subscription, can cancel at anytime. $26 per month includes shipping in the US (international please contact us for shipping options). Your fat quarters will be shipped the last week of each month. A Paypal invoice will be sent the second week of each month, and you will have 5 days to pay for your invoice. If you want to cancel your subscription, simply ignore the invoice and you'll be automatically dropped from the club. You can buy it here

All those who join our Block of the Month and Quilt Along on Flickr will be eligible for a monthly prize drawing.

Even if you decide not to purchase your fabrics with us, please join us on our Flickr group for the Quilt Along!

Glimma is here...

Hi Everyone,

This has been a hectic week. I had to rely on someone else to open the shop all week because I had to take my daughter (who is home schooled) to STAR testing. We do this every year, meet with the rest of her charter school to do the standardized tests that the state requires. I usually get a lot of binding done while I sit and wait LOL... If you don't know me in person you might not realize what a control freak I am but... let's just say relinquishing control of the shop for a few hours every morning this week hasn't been easy. Add to that some family things and I gotta say I am a little wiped out. But here is a ray of sunshine...

Glimma

Glimma Canvas
I wasn't sure what to expect with the canvas but I love it! I can't wait to make bags out of it. So cool!
