In store and online. The prices are already marked down so no coupon is needed. Good until Midnight Monday 9/2 (Note: Our brick and mortar store will be closed on Sunday and Monday but online is always open).
If you have joined the Alison Glass Sun Prints club and you are wondering where the fabric is you are not alone. The Feathers were supposed to be delivered in July and the Text this month but they haven't come yet. I have confirmation from Andover (the distributor) that my orders were correct, yet for some reason we still haven't gotten our delivery. This happens sometimes but I am really frustrated. I have a message into my Sales Rep but probably won't hear anything back until at least Monday. That being said it usually does take us about a week longer to get things than most of the online retailers that you know because we are on the West Coast and the fabric is shipped UPS ground from the East Coast. I promise I am just as anxious for it to arrive as you are. Please, stick in there a little longer with us.
I am not going to say "I want to introduce you to Angela Walters", I am sure you already know who she is: Fabulous Long Arm Quilter to the Stars, Quilting Book Author, and Fabric Designer for Art Gallery Fabrics. Maybe, we can learn a little something new about her today though....
Angela has a new fabric collection coming out in September called Legacy.
Look at these gorgeous prints:
Ms. Angela has graciously offered to let us interview her...
IT: It was so wonderful to be able to attend Art Gallery's Schoolhouse at
Spring Market. I was inspired by your story of the inspiration behind
Legacy. Can you share that with our readers?
AW: My grandpa played a huge role in my life by
showing me how to make quilts and encouraging me in everything that I
did. I wanted to pay tribute to him in some way, so I named the
collection Legacy in honor of him. Even though he is no longer with me,
his Legacy continues.
IT: How long have you been working with Art Gallery Fabrics? How did that partnership come about?
have been with Art Gallery Fabrics for almost a year, my first
collection was announced at Fall Quilt Market last year. I was
introduced to Pat, the art director and founder, by a mutual friend.
They have been great to work with and have really helped me develop as a
IT: Your books are a huge hit in our shop. Is there anything that surprised
you about the process of writing a book? What is your favorite part
about being a quilting author?
AW: The thing that surprised me the most was how
much I loved the process. I never thought I would like writing as much
as I do, so that was a pleasant surprise! My favorite part about being
an author is the fact that I not only get to quilt, but I get to talk
about quilting! It really doesn't get much better than that for me!!
IT: Do you have any advice for aspiring fabric designers?
biggest piece of advice that I would give is to stick with it. It took
me awhile to get my first collection picked up, and I almost quit
several times. It can be hard to get rejected, but don't let that stop
you. Keep putting yourself out there!
IT: My friend Jennifer had such a wonderful time meeting you and getting
some personal advice on quilting at Market. What is one thing that you
think aspiring Long Arm Quilters should do to improve their skills?
AW: When I started quilting, I would practice drawing
out the designs all the time. It allowed my brain to figure out how the
design flowed so when I was able to get to my quilting machine, I
already felt comfortable with it.
Here are our favorite fun questions:
IT: If you could meet anyone from any time in history who would you pick?
AW: Mark Twain......I would sit on his front porch and have him tell me stories.
IT: Slippers or barefoot?
AW: Socks! All the time. My feet are always cold so I am hardly ever barefooted!
IT: If you were a Superhero what would be your super power?
AW: The ability to produce a latte out of thin air.....think of how much I could get done then!
IT: What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
AW: Pick your battles. I have reminded myself of
that piece of advice in all areas of my life; marriage, parenting and
even quilting. I try not to get worked up over the little stuff.
IT: If Legacy had a theme song what would it be?
guess it would have to be Legacy by Nichole Nordeman. It talks about
wanting to leave a legacy, and remembering the important things in life.
I feel like Grandpa did just that, I hope to be able to do the same!
Thank you so much for being our guest today, Angela!

I know I am dying to get the Feathers from Alison Glass too... I know others have them ours haven't gotten here yet... we are on the West Coast and it takes 7 days to get them from the East Coast, Sun Print Clubbers please be patient I promise they will be shipped as soon as they come in.
Well, not sure how that happened. We have something super fun happening this Friday. You don't want to miss it trust me....
In other news... I wanted to say thank you, again, to all of our lovely customers and darling friends. To all of you that love us even when we are human. That say nice things when we are beating ourselves up. That see us through everyday. If I haven't said it enough. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I know I speak for the girls at the shop as well.
Our power is out but thanks to the modern miracle known as tethering I can still post this and post the Fat (quarter) Tuesday bundles. They will be here at 7PM so just click that link.
Today is our final blow out of Fat (quarter) Tuesday. We are going to do it a little differently. We have 20 bundles today. Yes, 20! These bundles are still one of a kind but if it is possible to make something similar then we will add more than one of each bundle to the listing. This means if you order the bundle you might not get the exact one pictured but something similar to it in color.
If you only want the exact bundle just choose the drop down option on the listing that says "If we do not have the full amount that you ordered of this item: Cancel this item" Then we will refund you instead of filling the order with a similar bundle. It is still possible that the bundles and similar will be sold out and in that case, as always, we will refund you right away.
These bundles will be posted at 7pm Pacific US time tonight in our Fat Quarters section of the shop.
Yes, that is MSBHQALB.... wow, that is a mouth full. Okay so... for those of you that haven't heard our dear friend Molli has cooked up all kinds of mischief using our friend Anne's Broken Herringbone tutorial. He made a quilt that seems to have been syndicated all over the web :)
So, of course, we offered to do some bundles for his quilt along. You can find them here.
This is just a representation, since they may vary in actual fabrics:
If you are already in the Rainbow Must-Stash Club you are well stocked in what you need to join the QAL as well. Go forth and Sparkle!
Welcome to Fat (quarter) Tuesday
We are doing one of a kind fat quarter bundles on Tuesdays. 12 fat
quarters for $ 20 makes them $ 1.66 a piece. Here are this weeks 5 one
of a kind bundles. With our website putting it in your cart won't save
it for you. These are one of a kind and first come first serve. If the one you order is not available because someone got it before you, we will refund you right away.
Our web host has been having a lot of problems lately so inventory may not be correct. There is a drop down menu in each item that allows you to tell us what to do if we are out of something, please use it if you must have a certain amount of something.... otherwise we will ship what we have and refund what we don't have.
I fell in love with the architectural prints in this.
The street maps:
The Cathedral Windows:
Well anyway... just pre-cuts so far but the yardage will be in in a month or two... Moda always sends the pre-cuts out so early.... if you want to see the whole collection you can find the PDF of all the swatches, and an interview with the designer, here:

Here all gone... sorry... next week I will change the link
First of all Happy Monday! I know it has been a long time since I did a Happy Monday post. I just had to tell you a story about Saturday....
Inspired by a comment on the giveaway post from Saturday, thanks Pam, I decided to make up some custom bundles for sale this week. I thought I could fit some in if we weren't too busy on Saturday. It turned out I only had time to make one...
I decided not to limit myself to a certain number but to just keep adding until I had what I thought was a cohesive group that would make an awesome quilt. I came up with 16 pieces for the bundle. Then I was asking my assistant what we should name it. As I was taking photos Joanie, my assistant ,was having a conversation with a customer. They were talking about beads, Joanie also works at a bead shop once a week, and Joanie mentioned that she would love to go to Glass Beach to get some glass for making jewelry. I said "That is what I should name this bundle, Sea Glass".(cont. below)
When we make a custom bundle we usually go ahead and cut a half yard of so that it is easy to re-create and we have a head start on any orders. Joanie wrote a note to attach to it so that everyone else would know what it was and she accidentally wrote "Sea Grass" instead of "Sea Glass". So we laughed.... at lunch she was skimming through a new book that we got in called "A Month of Sundays" by Cheryl Arkison, who is one of my favorite people (in other words she is a super sweetheart), and she found a quilt called "Sea Grass". By this time things are getting eerie... well not really but ... serendipitous for sure. The palette in the quilt is so similar to this one I created.
So later on I was thinking about writing this blog post and I thought maybe I could find a picture of Glass Beach that has some of the colors in it that I used in the palette. One of the first ones I found was this one from ZMEScience
I was sitting here last night and I realized that it is my 3rd Blogiversary. That is just crazy talk! How did that happen. You all are still around that is even more amazing. So let's celebrate with a Giveaway!
I am not selling this as a bundle on the website but let me know if you think that I should. A fat quarter bundle of Sketch... by the way we have another 13 colors coming soon they were just back ordered and didn't come with the original order...
You can win this fat quarter bundle of 14 prints. Just leave me a comment telling me what your favorite collection that just arrived is.
Waterfront Park by Violet Craft is the one collection at Spring Market I was so excited about... I mean I love them all of course but... this one really is my favorite all around... I love the Reflection Print and I love the Domino Dot.
