Maybe you can shuffle instead :)

First of all let me mention Abacus is in:

Pre-orders will ship tomorrow.

We are starting this amazing new program just a little something to spice up your weeks through the Holidays. Something that doesn't induce guilt but that is just for you. A little alone time during the bustle.

We will conducting our own version of the Sampler Block Shuffle. It is a program developed by Moda in which we publish 3 free patterns for quilt blocks each week. Yes, I said free. The patterns are free all you have to do is come to the website every Friday morning and download them. Each set of three will only be available for one week. The next Friday they will be removed and the next three will be displayed. Here is a layout of the quilt. The white squares are where the blocks are placed. The quilt measures 60"by 68".

 The rest of the story:

We are going to use a combination of Canyon by Kate Spain, Simply Colorful 2 by V & Co., and modern low volume prints like (but not limited to) Abacus, Modern Background Paper, and Drawn . So it should be bright and beautiful. Moda says 2 layer cakes and a bit extra should make the blocks so just as there is with layer cakes there will be some duplicates of prints but I think that will make it nice and cohesive.

If you want to see some beautiful Canyon mini's check out this link (click the pictures to enlarge)

1. Get your block patterns on Friday morning on the website or in the store anytime during the week.
2. Monday we will post a picture of our three blocks and offer a kit if you desire to purchase there is not an ongoing obligation you can choose to buy the weeks you want and skip the weeks you don't. Or make the whole thing out of your scraps, we don't judge. For you over achievers, you know who you are, you can choose to make your flying geese at the same time so they are all finished when you are ready to put your quilt together. You will need 6 flying geese per block each week or 18 per week.
3. We will offer a finishing kit reservation. These will be very limited.

Why Not?
I know we are all busy during the holidays and not everyone wants to start a wip right away but why not collect the patterns and a few fat 16ths for a friend as a Christmas present (we finish with the blocks first week of January but it could be the gift that keeps on giving for a week or so) or for yourself as a reward for making it through the Holidays without choking anyone. (You are not going to choke anyone are you?) At the very least come on over to the blog with your coffee on Monday mornings and check out Joanie's progress. Joanie is one of my assistants at the shop and she has graciously agreed to make our blocks for this... since I am still making all of the blocks for the BOM :) Maybe I will make the Flying Geese... or maybe I will just get my coffee and watch too :)

Two More Sleeps Until Quilt Market

Wednesday, October 21, 2015
Why is that so exciting? Well, besides the obvious, FABRIC! It is exciting to see my friends. Really, this is the only time I get to see all my friends from across the country.

Something pretty showed up at the shop...

Alison Glass Cotton Jersey Knits they are perfect for making her reverse applique quilts with (yes, jersey for quilts) and they are also perfect for trying your hand at Alabama Chanin style sewing. Here are some of Alison's pretty pictures (since I haven't had a chance to get any with the crazy going on over here). PS. Kate Spain's Canyon comes today and so does Abacus at least I think that is what is in those boxes :)

Here is the reverse applique circle quilt:

Hey My Lovely Customers,

Pinterest is allowing you to sell now. Check out this link and sign up for your own shop.

Totally Terrific Tuesday and a note about our challenge

Hi Everyone,

For TTT we will have all of the books and patterns on sale 30% off. I am going to Market in a few days and will pick up a whole new bunch ... although we will keep some of these around since some of them are new and awesome.

Those that signed up for the Fabric Challenge I have shipped out the domestic packages. International will go out before the end of the week (I have to type those all in by hand so they take me longer). Don't forget to tag us on IG when you get them and when you take pictures of your progress.

Fabulous Fabric Friday and a Giveaway

Friday, October 16, 2015
Hey Everyone,

I don't know if you all noticed but I left the bundles on sale all week. They are still 25% off and I will leave them up until bed time tomorrow night... which could be Midnight Eastern but might 1am or 2am... having some ladies over to the shop for an after hours party after we are done at PIQF for the evening.

Life is speeding past at the speed of light at the moment. I can't believe I leave for Market in less than a week.

Would you like the chance to win a little something? How about a fat quarter bundle of Angela Walter's new fabric collection Drawn?

All you have to do is tell me in the comments which of the BOM options below you would most likely choose.

I am diligently searching for our new BOM and I have two ideas.

1. Jen Kingwell's My Small World. Yes, it would have to be a labor of love (read challenging) like both of the last two year's BOM's have been. For pictures you can see the quilt along and yes I do have access to patterns and have ordered some already. I will be putting up a pre-order for the patterns soon. If you want to be notified please sign up for the Newsletter. (sign up for newsletter is at the right of the blog)

2. A mystery sampler BOM in which you would receive a mini keychain ruler/template each month along with the pattern instructions and fabric to make the block with that ruler/template. I would be designing the blocks and I promise I write good patterns :) This would be a less expensive option and you would have the template/rulers to keep afterwards for other projects.

You can comment Option 1 or Option 2 or anything else you want to say like "I want both, because I have drunk the koolaid" or "I hate both options". :)

I will do the drawing after I get back from Market on the 26th. I am not sure what day because I am always so busy when I get home from a trip but you can keep commenting until I do the drawing :) Also keep an eye out next week for another giveaway because I always do one after Sample Spree while I am at Market.

Totally Terrific Tuesday and a Givaway

Tuesday, October 13, 2015
Hey Everyone,

So for our kick off of Totally Terrific Tuesday (TTT from here on out) we are discounting all Fat Quarter Bundles and Half Yard Bundles by 25%. They will be marked down between Noon and Midnight Eastern US time. We added a lot more bundles and I might add more today during the day if I have time. If you find something after you have already purchased and want to add it go ahead and make another order I will combine and refund shipping over charges where applicable. No other coupons are valid during this sale.

We are sponsoring Terrific Tuesday Giveaway Day at Happy Quilting today too. You could win this pretty Dena Designs bundle... I adore her and have missed having her designs in the shop so I added a few of my favorite prints this last week.

Totally Terrific Tuesdays - Keepin' It Fresh!

Monday, October 12, 2015
Hey Everyone,

Just a little heads up. Starting tomorrow we are going to have a different Promo each Tuesday. You never know what it might be, but if you like our Facebook page you can get a preview each Monday evening. Sometimes it will be Fat Quarter Tuesday, sometimes it will be a deal on books or patterns, or notions, but most of the time it will be fabric because, let's face it, that is what we love. Like I said it could be anything. Tomorrow is gonna be a doozy! So keep a look out :)

PS. We just got new stock of Elizabeth in case you missed her the first time around.
