Stuff ... and more stuff :)

Tuesday, January 24, 2017
Hi Everyone,

You probably noticed that Friedlander arrived :) We have a couple Wildabon kits left if you need one. I also decided to make a few new custom bundles. The first one I am tongue in cheek calling "Kelly's Jam" because of a comment on Instagram... :)

But I also wanted to show you this...

I know, out of the blue, right? Well, for those that have been around here a while you know that I lament my lack of drawing and lettering skills... I mean my whole life I have wanted to learn to letter... okay admittedly this is not perfect but it is so huge for me... I learned it on Creativebug... I shared about Creativebug (that is an affiliate link)a while back and I finally had a few minutes a week or two ago to do a class (for the first time in quite a while) so I did the lettering portion of Pam Garrison's doodling class.

Anyway... I hope you all got the new Scrappy Stash Buster Newsletter. I am going to fall over now that I finally have all of the BOM stuff shipped and all of the Friedlander Pre-orders out.

See ya soon :)

TokyoMilk and a Giveaway

Friday, January 20, 2017
Hey Everyone,

Have you heard of TokyoMilk? If you have been to Sephora you might have. They are a company specializing in high end beauty products. The lady behind the brand is named Margot Elena and she designed a gorgeous new collection for Freespirit called Neptune and the Mermaid. We picked up the collection that is coming in May and I am so excited about it. Here have a look at the beautiful prints in this lookbook

I am sure that you have noticed that things are changing over here. The truth is my kids are off to college and are no longer able to help me with the shop as they have done since my surgery. Erin might help with wrapping and things sometimes still :) But since my surgery I am no longer able to work 10-12 hrs a day. My sternum will never be as strong as it once was and carrying and cutting bolts of fabric all day just hurts too bad. I know what you are all thinking... "Oh no she is quitting!" But no... that is why I led with that gorgeous new collection we ordered. I am not quitting but I won't carry every single modern collection. I will carry just one or two of the very best each month. We will also still offer great basics like Kona, Essex Linen, Art Gallery Solids etc... I am so excited to get back to curating beautiful unique bundles with the gorgeous fabrics that we have.

These are the new Essex Yarn Dyed Linen that came this week... from left to right Berry, Seafoam, Copper Metallic, Dusty Rose Metallic, Water Metallic, and Pickle (my personal favorite). They are available here.
I also made a bundle with a few of the others that we have in stock that can also be found in the link above.
Also Friedlander is in.

I had to slow down on fabric coming in while I was recovering from surgery, and I discovered that the slower pace has helped me to focus on just what I adore the most. It turns out that I love the slow pace even more! I don't have to forgo working with the fabrics that inspire me. Instead I can spend time with them because the next great thing hasn't come in right on it's heels. I think this is part of why I thought of the Scrappy Stash Buster Club... getting rid of some clutter so that I can focus on the things I truly love.

The giveaway is over on Maureen's blog and on her Instagram, a $20 gift certificate for each. So head on over there to win :)

You will see me again soon.

Love,
Julie

Whoa... It's Wednesday...

Holiday weeks are weird... I never know what day it is. :)

The Kona Color of the Year is Flamingo Pink. We shop owners order this sight unseen months in advance so we never know what we are going to get or if people are going to like it. Luckily people liked it and we sold all of our 75 yards that we ordered right away...

Here it is as we unboxed it...

And here it is a 1/2 hour later :) this is only half the pile though the other half is on the wrapping table already... These all shipped yesterday and now we will wait a week or two for the next shipment :)

Did you see that the Honey Pot Bee first official blocks were posted last night? I can't wait to sew some up. But before I can sew I have to work on my agenda for the day ... getting my child enrolled in college for the Spring Semester... woohoo.. and taking my other child to the airport ... we might not see him again for a while so ... slightly somber mood in the house. He is moving back to Alabama to live with his mom and go to college there.

I will see you on Friday :)

Love,
Julie

Happy Monday and Happy New Year

Monday, January 2, 2017
Hey Everyone,

I am so excited about this week and so excited about the possibilities of this New Year. I can't wait to dive into all the things that I have been putting off until after the surgery (and recovery).

I am going to streamline my life and declutter not only my home and my shop but my way of doing things. I have discovered a new resource (I am not a paid spokesperson) in Powersheets and the creator Lara Casey  she has so many resources for working in small steps to reach your goals. It is quite different from any other goal setting I have ever done. I suggest you check her out if you have any goals that you want to work towards yourself. You don't need to buy anything she has a series for free on her blog.
This is my Powersheets book and my little extra notebook I keep with it.

I took Saturday to spend working on the goal setting in the book. I still have a bit to do but I started with my small steps yesterday, slowly working toward those goals that really matter.

Have you picked your one little word of the year? Here is mine:

Yep, Sacrifice... I know it is a weird one. But let me explain a little... because I don't think I can articulate it fully... I want to Sacrifice all of the things that make me busy (but not productive) and all of the things that I have (that I don't need), for the things that are important. I want to spend more time with my family, spend more time with God, instead of doing lots of things in my tiny bits of time I want to do a few things in the more time I am making.

Just a couple shop keeping things... I re-stocked Wildabon Pre-orders so if you missed out on the first round there are a few left

If you plan on signing up for the Urbanologie BOM please do so before the 5th that will be the cut off so that I can get all the supplies ordered before shipping day on the 23rd.

Talk to you in a few days :)
Love,
Julie
