Happy Monday!

Monday, April 2, 2012
Hi Everyone,

I got to sew for a minute this weekend... Paper piecing is not my forte (I gotta take the time to figure out how to do an accent on that... I will put it on the list ) My brain does not do backwards well... at least I only had to pull three seams on this thing.

This is the March Block for Cindy at the Stash Bee... I love how it came out... but I won't be making a quikt out of it anytime soon.

I will be a little quiet again this week,. Most of you know (if you have been around for a while) that I homeschool my daughter. She still takes the state standardized tests every spring, though, and this week is that week. So we are going to be away each morning from 8 to after noon. Then I have to get all of my work done :)

The girls and I have been working on a secret project. I might announce what it is in the newsletter this month. I can't wait ... we are pretty excited about it.

Talk soon!

  1. Gorgeous block! I have a few foundation piecing projects on my list, but somehow I never seem to get to them...

To type "é" you type "alt" and "e" together, and then type "e" again. ;)

  2. I DO like the looks of that block! It looks like there are a lot of matching seams though.

    Good luck with the testing!

  10. Hey girl. I have some of these Michael Miller fabrics that I am probably going to use. They are Citron and Gray, but I think they'll be ok for the new block. http://michaelmillerfabrics.com/MMF/Swatch_Public_MMF2.cfm?PageNum_query=1&Gnam=Citron%20Gray%20-%20Color%20Story&ShowOrder=1

  12. Lovely block! I am not interested in paper piecing even though the results are beautiful.
Have fun with the standardized testing! I loved when we moved to ID and we could either not do the testing or do it ourselves at home with dh being the one in charge. We even had other homeschoolers come test along with us at that point.
I can't wait to see your surprise project!

  17. That is one truly gorgeous block. It would be great as the focal point of a 4th of July project, either small or large. So pretty and patriotic and Americana with those colors and patterns. Love it!

  22. Love your block. I think you do pretty well with paper piecing! Good luck this week!

On my keyboard, I hold down the option key and press the e. Then press e again after you let go of the option key. That creates the accent (first) and then puts the e under it. :-)

    I am using a mac.
