Hi Everyone,
It has been a week of introspection. Lots and lots of thinking going on over here. It seems I am not the only one. Two fellow shop owners, that I know, have decided to close shop completely and another one has decided to take a new amazing direction in her life. We wish them well on their adventures.
You might see a few changes here too... I hope you think they are positive changes. I know they will be for me... The first one is the implementation of Fabric Fridays... back in the day when I first started the shop I promised that I would not try to make the blog all about the shop but still do other fun things. This led to me feeling guilty whenever I showed off the new fabulous fabrics that we have gotten in. I do realized as fabric junkies we don't mind seeing pretty pictures of fabric but, nevertheless, I felt guilty. I have decided therefore to have one day a week when we show off all of the stuff that came into the shop that week. We will have fabric, books, patterns, and ALL THE THINGS. In addition we will have a giveaway. Now there are times when the giveaway will be on someone else's blog but I will direct you there if that is the case... Welcome Fabric Fridays. So to kick us off....

The Giveaway
How about a fabulous charm pack of Bonnie and Camille's Daysail? Don't ask me how I got it, if I told you I would have to kill you :)
To win this fabulous prize leave a comment below (I am doing research) telling me if you prefer fabric shop websites to just have just lists of collections in alphabetical order when you are searching for something or, as ours is now, you prefer having a representative photo so you can browse things you might not know about.
The Giveaway is closed the winner is Judy1522
Here is one of the new collections we got in this week... I just couldn't resist this for all of it's jungle goodness:
Origami Oasis by Tamara Kate
Love the Wasabi colored animals... because Wasabi rules the world :)
Love,
Julie
I prefer having a representative photo so I can browse things I might not know about. I love your shop! It's my favorite fabric shop online, even if I don't order much from it. (gotta work on clearing out some of my stash, which is of course to say I need to work on clearing out other people's stashes that I "inherited" somehow). But now that I think about it, I don't really have a brick store I like any better either so I guess you're favorite fabric store? Crazy!
ReplyDeleteI like a visual photo to remind me of the line. There are so many collections of fabrics, I can't always remember the exact name.
ReplyDeleteI like a photo of at least the newest products if not all.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love to have photos of the fabrics. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI'm a visual person, so I really like the representative photos. Thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my, Daysail! pant, pant pant!
ReplyDeleteI love an alphabetical list of collections so I can find what I want quickly :)
I like a photo so I can see the colors and print, since there is so much out there, that I don't know about. A lot of times I don't see something until someone makes something with it, and by then, it is no longer available.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
I like the photo but it would be even better if the photo was a collage of the prints in the collection so I could decide if I even want to go there. I click around a lot trying to find things on your site. I don't know if this is even possible but it would be awesome if you could add something to sort my color too. A few other shops I love do that and it's pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteHi, I like the way your site is set up for browsing+buying!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a neat giveaway!
msstitcher1214@gmail.com
Love the photos of new fabrics! I tend to skip over those alphabetical listings of new lines - please continue presenting new fabrics as you have been! Looking forward to sewing with DaySail...
ReplyDeletei have to have photos!!! and having photos together showing fabrics that compliment is awesome so you can buy other products that match easily!
ReplyDeleteI have always liked your site, but adding photos would be good.
ReplyDeleteI'm all about the photo and think this is one of the best parts of shopping for fabric online. But I would also love the inclusion of a listing (maybe alphabetical by fabric name and one by designer name) when looking for something specific.
ReplyDeleteI need to see what an online store has to offer, so thumbs up for visual representations!
ReplyDeleteOh! photos for sure. Yes, please.
ReplyDeleteI like having a photo because I rarely follow fabrics closely enough to remember the names.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the photos!!
ReplyDeleteI like the option of shopping by color. I know that isn't an option here, but if I'm searching for something specific for a pattern, it's nice to see what options there are for basics. For example, if I'm making a Christmas quilt, but don't want novelty fabrics, it would be nice to see what red and green basics are available.
ReplyDeleteI also like to shop by color and sometimes category! I know that's a difficult task on a website. If I'm searching for a specific print/line/designer, I don't need them listed out, I can use the search box for that. But what I do find helpful is when I'm looking for that coordinating color, I want to be able to browse photo. And my category, I'm referring to something such as text/low volume/specific print - ie chevron. Hope that makes sense!
ReplyDeleteI definitely need a photo. Sometimes I don't know exactly what I want until I see it.
ReplyDeleteLovely little fabrics you are giving away!!
I like a photo. A collage is best but a defining print for the collection would be acceptable. I also like search options. Collection, designer, color, solids, blenders, etc. Thanks.
ReplyDeletePhotos!! Sometimes I am looking for one thing but end up buying something completely different because of the photos. They always make me have the wanties!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove photos of fabric. I am finding new and exciting fabric lines and designers I have never before thought of buying!!. Of course there is the problem of the "wishlist" which is way longer than the purse strings so to speak!! (sandybailey55@hotmail.com)
ReplyDeleteI like to heve good photos of the fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI like to have a photo of the fabric. Sometimes lines have similar names or even the same name so that can get confusing. Thank you for a great giveaway and I don't see why you shouldn't show off what you got in the shop. Good idea. :)
ReplyDeleteI like a photo. I don't normally shop by designer. I also prefer to see the whole collection (like you have above) nit just the front of a layer cake or a picture of a jelly roll!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so very much for the giveaway! Like most everyone else, I like a photo. Sometimes I'm looking for...say a text fabric.... and would not know if a collection contained one or not without photos.
ReplyDeleteI am a visual consumer and if the picture and price are right it's in my basket #!}
ReplyDeleteI prefer a picture for sure. I am always coming across new fabrics I didnt know existed just because of the pictures.
ReplyDeleteI really love the photos. They often lead me to a new designer or collection I hadn't heard of before.
ReplyDeleteI think Fabric Fridays is a great idea. My favorite newsletter ever is from Hawthorne Threads, and it's just a long scroll of amazing pictures of different fabrics and projects that comes out every few weeks.
ReplyDeleteI love looking at images instead of lists, so I think your shop's layout is great. :)
Pictures, pictures, pictures! The more the better, especially a grid that shows each fabric. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeletePhoto - names don[t tell me enough about what it looks like....
ReplyDeleteI like to see photos, lots of :)
ReplyDeleteI love to have lots photos of the fabrics. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI prefer having a representative photo so you can browse things you might not know about. Keep up whatever you are doing, its good.
ReplyDeleteThanks
for the give away
Photos...lots if photos, please, Julie. A list is good if I already know what I want but most times I do not. I need photos. In all honesty if I had to pick from a list to see the fabric I doubt I would shop with you at all. Thanks for asking our opinion. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love looking at the photos of the fabric, but also like the alphabetical list you have on the side bar as well. It makes exploring easy. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely like photos!
ReplyDeleteI prefer fabric shop websites to have representative photos. I don't always know what I'm looking for until I see it.
ReplyDeleteI have to see a representative photo so I can SEE things. Collection titles do not let me know what I want to look at. Also, a lot of the fun is drooling over new stuff. crystalbluern at onlineok dot com
ReplyDeleteI love seeing new fabric collections anytime, anywhere.
ReplyDeleteKeep them coming.
A really like have a photo to look at. There are a lot of fabrics that I wouldn't know just by their names! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI like the representative photo - so much of the time I am just browsing without any clear goal!
ReplyDeleteturner(underscore)post(at)hotmail.com
I love those striped zebras! I like seeing new things. I do like when I can search by a specific topic (like 'morse code' or 'bagpipes' or other odd things I am looking for), but I don't always know what I am going to love, so I appreciate seeing things you like. :)
ReplyDeletePictures, always. The thing I love about browsing online shops is SEEING the fabric. I'm usually looking for something specific for a project, so the images help tons.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm looking for a specific fabric, that's what the search feature is for, right?
I like having pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I love photo's and lists, it depends why I'm shopping. What is important to me is a good search function, I was on a site recently that couldn't find the fabric I was looking for by searching but could if I use the menu, just a little frustrating!
ReplyDeleteOh Daysail! Love it! Perfect for a little boy who loves the water. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love photo's too... they jog my memory. Love the Origami Oasis photos!
I like having photos, although browsing in your shop is getting to be an expensive habit. It is nice to be able search, though, if I am looking for something specific.
ReplyDeleteI like your photos best! There are too many web sights the other way. I like to see the bundles that I don't see elsewhere! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeletejlblvn@gmail.com
Daysail, OMG! I can't wait for this one to come out!! If you look at fabric as much as I do, you don't need photos but they are nice. I like how yours is set up by collection :)
ReplyDeleteI rather have photos- I rarly remember fabrics names :) Thanks so much for this great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI'm all over the pics for sure!
ReplyDeleteI really prefer the picture!thats how you find new things!
ReplyDeleteOh, I cannot purchase fabric without browsing! Lists do me no good.
ReplyDeletePhotos are a must for me. I will not shop somewhere that does not have a representative photo for the collection. There are always so many new collections being released, some getting a lot less press than others amd i find it impossible to keep up to date with all the new releases and how they look. As a result I rely highly on browsing photos of collections to help me find what I'd like to buy.
ReplyDeleteVisual shopper: must have the pictures.
ReplyDeletePhotos, for sure! You don't always know that you need it, if you don't see it!
ReplyDeleteI'll never buy fabric online that I'm not searching specifically for, so no-photos works fine for me.
ReplyDeleteI prefer pictures, yours are particularly clear and I feel like I get a true representation of the colors, etc. thanks!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite on line shops, besides you, is Hawthorne Threads. It is easy to search and one of the things I love is how it will tell you how much of a fabric is in stock. When I put in the name of a designer, I get all the designers fabrics, so I may see things I wouldn't otherwise. I think there should always be a way to see similar things, by color or designer so you can see things you might not otherwise. I find some great stuff that way.
ReplyDeletePictures, for sure! Although I do know some designers, I tend to like fabric for the colorway. Now if you could only arrange for us to feel the fabric! That would be awesome! Thanks for the give away!
ReplyDeleteI prefer having a representative photo so you can browse things you might not know about.
ReplyDeleteIf I can't see it, why would I buy it?
Having a photo would be very helpful!
ReplyDeleteemily@reznechek.com
I prefer having a representative photo so I can browse things I might not know about. I don't always know about the latest lines of fabric.
ReplyDeleteI prefer having a photo so I can browse... I generally get ideas from the fabrics, or just scroll through page after page of fabric fun :)
ReplyDeleteGood clear picture showing all the fabrics in the collection, a good index when needed to speed search for that 1 thing. 24Tangent@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI definitely prefer having a representative photo so I can browse things I might not know about!
ReplyDeleteHi, my name is Melanie and I'm a browser. Browse browse and browse!!
ReplyDeleteI selfishly like to "have my cake and eat it, too." Search is important when I'm looking for something specific, but ... if you supply the eye candy and make it easy to browse, I'm much more likely to add onto my purchase of the thing I'm looking for and shop when I don't have anything specific in mind.
ReplyDeleteI prefer having a representative photo so I can browse things I might no know about.

Photos are a must!
ReplyDeleteI like having the photo!
ReplyDeletePhotos are a must. I also have another suggestion. I want to see as much as possible on one page, so I'd like to see you add the option to choose how much you'd like to see on each page (i.e., 20, 40, 80, etc.).
ReplyDeleteI like photos but also a search feature. Day Sail is so adorable. We sail so I am partial to sailboats.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are a must for me.Never have I purchased without seeing a visual of what I need. Keep them coming,
ReplyDeleteI love lots of photos so I can see what the fabrics look like before buying.
ReplyDeleteI prefer having a representative photo so I can browse things I might not know about
ReplyDeleteHmm, I prefer to have at least one thumbnail from the line because half the time I can't actually remember the name of the line so it removes some of the guesswork!
ReplyDeleteBTW, your project should be done soon, sorry, had to wait for the world's slowest delivery of some thread (don't ask!)
I would much rather have photos that I can browse through to see what's available. This is where I usually discover fabrics that I haven't seen before. P.S. Love Day Sail and would love to win. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the photos of the fabric so I can look through everything before purchasing.
ReplyDeleteKathy Davis
kdavis1@centurytel.net
I like a photo, because I don't know very many fabric designers, lines, etc. There are so many fabulous fabrics out there!
ReplyDeleteI need photos to place orders, thank you for this giveaway
ReplyDeleteI don't mind a list of the collections, but if there is a photo I could be tempted to look at a line which I wouldn't normally. I love shop news of new collections. Again, it takes me out of my comfort zone and opens my mind to new and wonderful fabric. I am looking forward to Fabric Fridays
ReplyDeleteI'm a visual person and need photos of the fabrics. First time to see Day Sail and really love it. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI like pictures. I can't always afford to buy, but I can always afford to look.
ReplyDeleteI love your shop but think I would enjoy photos of the fabric. Thanks for the chance to win. I think with pictures I would probably buy more as I might miss something good if the written name doesn't appeal to me.
ReplyDeleteShawn
I am a visual person and prefer to see representationss. I also like so see every piece of a collection and zoom in to view all the details.
ReplyDeleteI tend to buy more by seeing a photo. Takes too long to click through the links.
ReplyDeleteI love a list but it means I have to click each and every thing on that list - but I have the attention span of a gnat and can be distracted easily!! A icture is great but only if teh actual image is still a fabric that is on sale once you click across to see the rest of that collection.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine trying to buy fabric without a photo. Photos for me, please!
ReplyDeleteAlso I LOVE seeing what you get in every week, please don't feel guilty! For instance, i'd never know about those awesome origami critters if you didn't post that you got it in. :)
I love seeing a photo of the fabrics. It is great to see what is out there to buy. Thanks for the lovely giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI like to see pictures of the fabrics rather than just a list of fabric collections
ReplyDeleteI actually like both. I like being able to search by collection when i'm looking for something specific (really the only way I should allow myself to shop), but i also enjoy browsing pictures because that's how I see new things or make combinations out of different lines.
ReplyDeletePhoto's love seeing the fabric
ReplyDeleteI like both, but if I had to pick I would choose pictures. I like to be able to search by color too.
ReplyDeleteI love color and so photos are a must! To be able to search by color is also very helpful. Sometimes you are looking for just a certain shade of something. The Day Sail is adorable. I just finished a nautical themed quilt for a sailing friend. Thanks for a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI love the photos. It is so much easier to remember what collections you like. Sometimes I can't keep track of the names =)
ReplyDeletePhotos! Sometimes I forget who designed what and which manufacturer it is!
ReplyDeleteI prefer a photo to see the fabric. you are one of my favorite places to shop
ReplyDeleteYes to the photos - definitely! I am all about the browsing and impulse shopping! Your site is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI prefer having a representative photo so I can browse things I might not know about. I don't want to have to click a million times to look at things in a list. A photo is more likely going to get me to take a closer look.
ReplyDeleteI like having a photo so I can find new things that I might never have known about.
ReplyDeleteI definitely like the representative photos! Visual, visual, visual. Thanks! :) :)
ReplyDeleteI like the photo which shows new fabrics. Sometimes I don't remember names thus you refresh the memory and expand the mind.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing a photo. You are so right about not knowing every collection available. I don't think I've ever order online without including a surprise favorite. Thanks
ReplyDeletePhotos, please! This really makes a difference in my shopping. There are those prints or collections that you see everywhere, and then there are those that do not get the same attention. I love coming across those not-as-popular surprises.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win. I absolutely love having a little picture vs just a list. I find such nice things that way.
ReplyDeleteI am such a visual person and I always appreciate photos to help me choose fabrics (or anything) I am considering as a purchase.
ReplyDeleteI definitely want to see photos, but I appreciate alphabetical listings when I know exactly what I am looking for.
ReplyDeletePhotos for sure!!!! Alphabetical listings are great for more experienced quilters but newbies would be lost without pics.
ReplyDeleteLove the Daysail...so cute!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the representative photos for browsing.
I need to have a representative photo. Like you said we may not know about new designs. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteHow is it that I had no idea Bonnie & Camille had another collection coming out!?! How exciting!
ReplyDeleteAs to your question, I love being able to see a photo of a collection because there are just so many that I don't know by name and I often miss things if I just see a list.
A picture tells a thousand words!
ReplyDeleteUnless I'm trying to find a fabric that matches a collection, I NEED visual reinforcement - bring on the photos!!!
ReplyDeleteI need a photo. Daysail is so cute.
ReplyDeleteI love photos along with collections in alphabetical order...the photos tempt me to buy more :)
ReplyDeleteHaving pictures of the fabrics help me to decide which I might use in the projects that I create.
ReplyDeletePhotos are so helpful and I think your shop is one of the easiest to find what you want.
ReplyDeleteI like to see the photos!
ReplyDeleteI love having the photos!
ReplyDeleteI hope this is not unhelpful, but I like both! Thumbnails in the panel and a text list in the menu/navbar. Sometimes I'm browsing, and other times I know what I want. :}
ReplyDeleteI love having the photos. There is so many new fabric lines coming out is is really nice to be able to peek a pic.
ReplyDeletetushay3(at)yahoo(dot)com
I love the pictures!! Thanks for the chance to win!!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the pictures...helps narrow down what I have in mind. Love how your Site is set-up...can't think of any way it could be greater! thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteIf you don't inform and enable us on fabric, someone else will....so no guilt there. I love the site just the way it is, with photos. If I don't see it and fall in love with it, I can't buy it! :-)
ReplyDeletezanalou999@gmail.com
I perfer the pics. b.j.day68@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI prefer having the photo as I don't always know what a fabric line looks like since there are so many out there.
ReplyDeleteI love pictures. It's your blog so you can show all the great fabric. Many of us don't go to shops, too far away, so we love seeing what gadgets and fabric are new.
ReplyDeleteI like being able to see photos as it easier to find ranges and colours that way.
ReplyDeletePhotos, too, please! Sometimes seeing a thumbnail sparks a connection, reminding me of something I'm looking for or prompting me to take another look to see if there's something I've overlooked.
ReplyDeleteAs to showing us fabric from the shop--of course you should. That is one of the many things you have to offer; it's one of the reasons we follow you.
I think you're doing a great job, and look forward to seeing what else you come up with. I'm happy about the giveaways, just for the fun of them.
I do love to see photos also! thank you!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely love the photos!
ReplyDeleteI love having the collection listed in alphabetical order with the collection picture attached, like you do now. It's a very unique method, and I love it! Multiple ways to picture and read, to find my favorite collections is great!
ReplyDeleteOh, those new fabrics are gorgeous!! I like the way your website looks at the moment - the representative photo for each collection draws you in and makes you want to look further! I will say that the font used for the lists on the left hand side of the screen is a little on the small side and is quite hard to read - I know my mam would really struggle to read that and it would put her off looking further...
ReplyDeleteHow sad another shop is closing, hope it's not local as we've lost a few in the past year. I love seeing visual pics but not if it takes a long time loading on the screen. It's frustrating when looking for something and you're downloading pics of stuff you're not interested in. I like the way your website is now.
ReplyDeleteLove it the way it is! It is sad that more shops are closing. We don't have many left in my state. The closest one to me is 45 minutes away and after that, the next is well over an hour. Needless to say, I need to shop online if I want time left to sew!
ReplyDeleteI prefer to see the different fabrics so a photo is my preference. I just get confused with lists. It's so sad to hear of shops closing when there are so many of us out there buying fabric and looking for shops.
ReplyDeleteI prefer having a clear photo of all of the fabrics in the line when planning any type of quilt project and deciding or ordering fabrics.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to participate in the give away! :)
As I am a beginner when it comes to fabrics, I love having photos of them! It also tempts me in to look at collections I wasn't going to in the first place!
ReplyDeletennonaihr@hotmail.co.uk
Photos are so very helpful! While I do hear of some of the collection names from other bloggers, I by no means hear about every single collection so a picture would help me quickly see if I'm interested in the collection or not... Instead of having to click on every single link :)
ReplyDeleteI like having a representative photo because I often find things I would never have looked at.
ReplyDeleteI definitely prefer a photo because it sometimes leads me to buy a fabric line that I hadn't seen before. And I always love your "new in the shop" pics because at times I'm waiting for something specific lines that are on my wish list to arrive so that I can get them quick before they are all gone.
ReplyDeletePictures.. as a new quilter I am not all that familiar with the designers names and such... a pretty picture will grab me every time!
ReplyDeletePhotos work best for me. I'm not familiar with all the names of every collection, so with photos I can visualize and often times find other things I need/want too! I think it would be to your advantage to have photos, it sells the fabric better.
ReplyDeletePhoto's most definitely always grab my eyes, the warmer and brighter the better.
ReplyDeleteFabric Fridays rock!
I like photos best of all. Easy to see if something intrigues me.
ReplyDeleteI prefer photos since I don't always know the names of all the fabric lines. That way, I can see if the colors or styles might work for what I need before I shop the page.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
Sandy A
I like pictures the best, though it is probably better for my budget if there is just a written list. :D Great photos make me buy more than I intended!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely with a photo - eye candy, you know!
ReplyDeletei like having photos because i usually shop by color.
ReplyDeleteLeave it the way it is, I like seeing pictures :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a picture! I like to mix fabric lines. . .That being said, I do like the convenience of having your list of fabric lines listed in the side bar as your webpage comes up.
ReplyDeletePhotos for sure! Can't always remember the name or designer of a line. Photo collage of line would be helpful too! shopgirl7232(at)yahoo(dot)com
ReplyDeleteI'm a photo girl!!! Soooo much fabric comes out during the year it's just hard to keep up with all of them without a photo!!! Wishing you the best!!!
ReplyDeleteShannon
Maxwell0521@yahoo.com
A photo is a must for me, and I buy a lot more when I see pretty fabric photos! Thanks for the giveaway. I will look forward to your Friday posts with all the new stuff!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely a visual person - love the photos. And online is where I usually see new fabrics first.
ReplyDeleteGive me photos any day...love the colorful eye candy!
ReplyDeleteI prefer to have a photo next to the name of the collection. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteap_lemos at yahoo dot com
I really need the visuals. I don't memorize fabric collections - when I need something I go searching for it. I might need "a cabbage rose collection with a black background" or "a bunch of fabrics that are neutrals and marbled". Thanks for the chance to win! VermontPines at aol dot com
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a photo! I don't always remember the names of new collections, so a photo is a good reminder
ReplyDeleteI definitely prefer a photo, especially if I am looking for binding or backing
ReplyDeleteI think you have a consensus - a photo is more impressive than a name.
ReplyDeleteI definitely prefer having a representative photo of the fabric. I also like shops that have a sort of favourites 'pinboard', so you can compare the fabrics you like together.
ReplyDeletePhoto please! Love your shop and best of luck to you as you make changes!
ReplyDeletesatterfieldfamily at sbcglobal dot net
I like having a picture. Many times I am not sure what I am looking for, so a picture helps me narrow down my choices. Thanks
ReplyDeleteQuilters are visual people, attracted to pretty things, so I think pictures are essential.
ReplyDeleteI really like having the photos, it gives me an idea of what is in a fabric line I may otherwise not have looked at.
ReplyDeleteI really like both, to be able to find a fabric I have heard about I want it to be alphabetical, and then click to see a picture. I am not sure if this makes sense but I hope you get the idea of what I am saying. BTW Beautiful fabric you just got in!!
ReplyDeleteThe best option for me is an alphabetical list, with photos. I prefer the pictures with all or several fabrics in a collection. This is particularly helpful when I can remember what a collection looks like, but nor it's name.
ReplyDeletejen dot barnard at btinternet dot com
Photos for sure! There are so many collections and designers, there is no way I could just read the name and remember what it all looks like. Lists are helpful if you know what you're looking for, but I think pictures are essential to help guide your customers. Since you have both, it's a win win!
ReplyDeletePictures please :)
ReplyDeletePhoto for sure. Otherwise I might never look at some great options.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely photos! Love seeing the pictures!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely like having photos of the fabric. I'm not so good with words or lists. Pictures grab my eyes.
ReplyDeleteI like to see a photo. Thank you for the chance to win this beautiful fabric.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely photos. I even like to google to see more pictures of the other prints in lines when I see something I like.
ReplyDeleteMy mind is a sieve :( I'd be lost without the photos!
ReplyDeleteLove the way you do it now. Thank you, Kathy
ReplyDeletePhotos are great. Lists are okay too since you can always follow the links if the fabric names are not familiar, but photos can introduce you to a collection you didn't know about. Not that any of us quilters need more temptation.
ReplyDeleteI love representative photos, but they make visiting fabric websites dangerous for me. I find myself clicking and buying more.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree with all of those who are voting for a representative photo. Sometimes I get confused about the various designer's lines and a photo helps to jog my memory. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the photos - I need the visual!
ReplyDeleteI really like the way your shop is set out, it's easy to navigate and has lots of gorgeous fabric.
ReplyDeleteI like the alphabetical listing and the thumbnails on the 'fabric by collection' page.
On the front page though, there are mainly graphics, and I think that a photo of each category may be more interesting and eye catching.
I wonder about the wisdom of fabric manufacturers bringing out collections so fast - almost daily. I struggle to keep up, and I only have to look and buy or not! So I don't know how shop owners keep up with all the stuff you would have to do in the background with each new line - you must be exhausted! Anyway, thanks for the lovely fabric you bring to us and I hope the great suggestions that you get will help you along the way.
I really need photos"
ReplyDeleteI definitely need the photos as I love to browse and look at the new collections.
ReplyDeletePhotos please for us visual learners :)
ReplyDeleteLove both but love the photos when I haven't heard of a collection.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the photo so I can see what is new. Fabric collections change so fast!
ReplyDeletek(dot)castanette(at)Hotmail(dot)com
I always love when you show any fabrics, so I will look eagerly forward to Fabric Fridays! I like photos when I shop online :)
ReplyDeleteMost definitely photos! People can always just search for the specific collection they are looking for.
ReplyDeleteHmm, well I like to be able to browse by designer more than collection, but I do really like having a picture list of new collections along the side so I can see what is new I might not have heard from!
ReplyDeleteAlso I love seeing the new fabrics in, so I don't find it bad at all to see what you get in, and think it's great that you share!
I'd prefer photos to browse a shop because I'm a visual person and I can't seem to remember designers or lines. Themes or color sorting tools are handy too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
Can it be alphabetical WITH photos? That would be the BEST!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win! I would prefer photos, as I typically don't know the names. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the photos to browse: sad to say, it makes me spend more money!! :-) Hugs, H in HEaldsburg
ReplyDeleteI like to have a representative photo because names are hard to remember. The main reason I like photos is because you can find fabrics that are discontinued easier. I had to do that for a fabric last week that had been discontinued for four years.
ReplyDeleteI like to see a representative photo. I also get frustrated when you can only see 12 fabrics at a time on a page and see only a photo of the top fabric from a layer cake. Whew, thanks for letting me get that off my chest!
