Hi Everyone,
In between getting the newsletter out on Monday and packing orders I have been trying to get some sewing done. It feels good to finally be back to the sewing machine. Above is a little quilt that I have been wanting to make ever since I got Kumari Garden Holiday into the shop. It is large blocks to show off the gorgeous prints in the collection and has a super cute applique feature at the top... I will show you soon when it is finished. The pattern will be available soon in my shop as well.
The second WIP I wanted to show today is something I am working on for a reveal next month... so I can only show you a little sneaky peeky... have I said how much I love red lately? I so do!

Back in the old days we called WIPs UFOs. Does anyone but me call them UFOs anymore?
My friend Jana is having a Halloween Party in June... she says she doesn't have time in October to get her Halloween decorations made so she is going to start this month. Go over to her blog and sew along with her. She is a hoot and you are sure to have fun.
Hope everyone is having a super short work week this week.
Talk soon.
Thanks for the shout out :) And, I always think of UFOs as they projects you let languish in a drawer for too long and a WIP is something you are actively working on.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see that Kumari Garden quilt! Already looks gorgeous! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Julie is your newsletter out now!? If so I haven't got one..xx
ReplyDeleteI can not wait to see the Kumari garden one finished, it looks pretty! I am going t check out Halloween in June lol how fun. I always like to do my crafts ahead of time as well so that is awesome!
ReplyDeleteIt's a UFO if it has been sitting, ignored, unloved and untouched for a while. I usually change the WIP designation to UFO after about 3 months.
ReplyDeleteGoing to check out the Halloween thing. I love Halloween, and am just finishing a Halloween WIP right now. (got to hurry before it changes to a UFO!)
Oh yes, I have called them many times UFOs, but I think WIP is a much nicer term! Love your new projects and can't wait to see them!
ReplyDeleteYay, I love halloween! I'll check it out!
ReplyDeleteI agree.. a UFO is a forgotten/ignored/rejected WIP that you haven't forced yourself to look at, let alone think about, in a while :)
ReplyDeleteThose WIPs look so pretty! The colors are amazing!! I can't wait to see the Kumari Holiday Garden quilt!!!
ReplyDeleteIf it's sitting in the closet, then it's a UFO. If it's on my sewing table or shelves, and gets worked on or looked at occasionally, it's a WIP!
ReplyDeleteLinda
I sure do still use "UFO"! UFOs are all those unfinished projects that exist in my house. WIPs are those UFOs that are in active progress. Big difference in my mind! :) Found your blog via Janet at Carribou Crossing. Going to have fun exploring. :)
