Isn't it pretty? I simply cannot wait until it shows up in bolts for the shop. I can't giveaway the whole fat quarter bundle because I do have to make some samples with it, but I am going to draw two winners next Saturday the 16th of July to win two 5" charm packs a piece. I will cut the charms myself. There are 38 fabrics in this collection so that will be 76 charms in each pack. Whadya say? Do you want some?

I'm so excited about Terrain, Kate Spain is one of my absolute favorite designers (love the free pattern she created too for Terrain).

ReplyDeleteMy first choice is Ruby, aaannd second... RUBY! Sorry, it's my favorite!!! It is THE line that I have been dying for, since all of the quilt market pics (also Children at Play by Sarah Jane Studios). I know you want them to coordinate with the style of your other fabrics in the store, but wouldn't you like to have variety too? I have bought a few fabrics from your shop (and love their style) and I still love Ruby, even if it seems too traditional for the rest. And then you never know, you may also attract more of a variety of customers (which of course equals more sales, I really think Ruby is going to be VERY popular).

Btw Julie, when I saw your tutorial on Quilted Fish last week, I thought it was cute but didn't pay much attention because I wasn't interested in a 4th of July table runner just now, but when I saw it again today, I really noticed the stars! I love that block!!! Absolutely adorable! I think I may try a quilt with just those (or some variation/combo). Thanks for sharing it!!! And I also love all the white space in Sally's quilt, so maybe your stars mixed with lots of white space? We shall see!
My favorites are Ruby, for sure, and Summer House. I think Ruby fits in perfectly with your shop aesthetic, it's not too traditional looking and has some great designer elements. The same goes for Summer House, it's just not my favorite. But it does have some pretty nice prints.

ReplyDeleteFlora and Ruby - Flora is whimsical and modern - Ruby is "solid" and modern. Summer House has too large of a scale for my taste, though some of the prints are pretty.

I didn't read every single comment, but since I don't have a quilting program, I had to click on the green scissors (instead of the blue ones). Anyway, I am swayed by my color preferences, so I will just state my opinion - Ruby for sure, and Summer House. I do not like Flora (I'm sure there are many who would, though). Hope these comments help you out, chickie. You're doing a great job at keeping us informed on whats out there!

Love the aqua prints, perfect for my project I am working on right now, and I was going to go shopping tomorrow for fabric, when you will have it this month I don't think so. Second choose is Flora, love it also. just in time for later in the year to sew another wonderful summer project in time for the following spring. Girl, you are making this way too much fun!

I like flora and summer house for the saturated colors, although ruby is nice too. Ruby feels more like a vintage-inspired line or like something that my grandmother would have used for quilting. Its pretty (aqua and red!), but not really my usual aesthetic.

As to the two collections, I think Ruby and Flora would be quite lovely.
I love Summer House and Ruby. They are just great collections, I definitely love the color choices so i would go with them.
ReplyDeleteI didnt see Summer House on the link provided but I did find the line elsewhere. I also saw it in a local quilt shop. I have to say that the fabrics in this line are very pretty. I especially love the greens and blues. My other choice but not necessarily 2nd is the Flora line. I am liking the green and red/orange colorways there. Thanks!
