January Schnibble is finished...

It took me long enough... There isn't a lot of contrast in this quilt but I did that on purpose. Ihave been wanting to try out a rose meander stencil I have for quilting. So I made this deliberately as a canvas for the quilting. It is going to be a baby gift. oops... forgot to mention. I bought the pattern but didn't use it. I wanted the blocks bigger so the baby quilt would be a more cuddly size. This is actually 43"x43" :)

It's official... I'm Back

Thanks for allowing me to have that much needed break.

Although I don't blog a lot I do read the blogs every morning and I was really getting overwhelmed. Every project was calling my name and I was buried.

I had planned on getting all of my urgent (in my mind) UFOs finished but I lost the whole weekend last week to the Craft Hope stuff (it was a good reason) and this weekend to friends. They aren't all finished but I have made progress.

Here are the two things that got completely finished:

My Fall Mini Swap Quilt:

And I was an angel for this swap too. Sarah needed a pick me up so I made her this little quilt (it isn't all wacky on the edges I had it at a 90 degree angle and it was sliding down, it is nice and straight I promise):

Sorry about the terrible pictures. It has been raining here forever and I couldn't get them outside for light. Also, my studio lights are still buried in the garage from our Christmas clean up.

The other thing I did while I was on the break is decide what projects are not going to be started and which are going to be finished before anything else is started. It is good to get organized and stop trying to keep up with everyone else.

It is good to be back :)

Thank you to everyone who bought my things on Craft Hope

Craft Hope For Haiti an update...

Saturday, January 16, 2010
Woot Woot! They both sold before I got up this morning... so exciting!

Craft Hope seems to be doing great with their ETSY store for Haiti and Doctors without Borders. There is a 24 hr turn around time now from when we submit a donation to when they can get it listed... which indicates they are going great guns. I am not posting these things to toot my own horn ... just in hopes of:
1. Encouraging others to donate
2. Enticing others to buy something lovely (even if it isn't one of my things, or especially if it isn't)

I am so happy the earrings sold ( I hope it was you Jackie) I decided to send a couple more things...

First for the quilters. I decided to share my Santa Present L'amour... I posted these:

and this

Then for the Jewelry lovers (I know we are both right?) These:

A huge peach Moonstone focal cabochon is applied to a 1” wide Sterling Silver Hammered Ring. The top of this lovely stone is encrusted with copper and iridescent white Keishi Pearls and Swarovski Crystals. The ring is suspended from a Sterling Silver flat cable chain with Sterling wire Swarovski Pearls and Crystals. The pendant measured 1 ¾” from top of ring to bottom of Moonstone. Chain is adjustable to 19". Also included is a pair of matching earrings consisting of Sterling Silver French wires and chain with Swarovski Pearls and Crystals and Freshwater Pearls. The earrings measure 1 ½” from top of hook to bottom of chandelier crystal. Please view the variety of pictures… the black to show the shine of the Moonstone and the lighter color to show the detail of the pendant.

Breaking my self imposed silence for this good cause... please take a look and consider donating things for auction or buying something from the shop... you can find info here: Craft Hope For Haiti

And you can go directly to the shop by clicking the button on my side bar.

Here is what I donated... it isn't posted on Etsy yet. I will update with a link when it is.

"Lemon Quartz and Amethyst earrings.

Specialty cut chandelier drops of genuine lemon quartz sparkle daintily from 14k gold filled twisted wire rings. Each of the twin tear drops is clustered with genuine amethyst faceted rondelles the color of concord grapes. The gemstones are hand wrapped with 14k gold filled wire and hang from 24k gold vermeil hooks. Length is approximately 1 ½ inches from top of hook. "

See this lovely white with green background fabirc I picked for The Quilt Show BOM?

It is sold out. Before I had a chance to buy what I needed it was gone. There is nothing even similar out there. I know... I looked... and looked. I almost gave up. I have decided to make the best of it and just use some WOW for the rest of the quilt. I still have enough of this to finish these blocks and make a couple more. Then I will just arrange them so that they looks planned... what else can  I do?

Tons of things to finish up this weekend...my fall mini quilt for the swap, these star blocks and my Siggy Blocks from Rachel's swap. Have a great weekend everyone!
