Huge Clearance Sale

Friday, September 30, 2016
Hey Everyone,

We have moved into our new studio. It is a huge mess still while we organize all the fabric but it is coming along. It is definitely my new happy place. The new place is about 1200 square feet smaller than our old place but the space is infinitely more usable and it all wide open but I guess I have been buying fabric faster than we have been clearing it out because even though we have sold a bunch in our sales for the last month the shelves are still bulging at the seams. Also, we are getting another 90 or so bolts (a huge restock of Kona and some super cute double gauze) next week as well as 50 new bolts of Alison Glass fabrics this month and an adorable off the beaten path collection that coordinates really well with Heartland called Josephine. Kate Spain's Grand Canal is also coming... so we need to clear off some shelves needless to say... I just marked down everything that isn't brand spankin' new. There are close to a thousand items in our clearance section. All of our Christmas fabric is marked down at least 40% some is $3 a yard.  Cotton + Steel is marked down 20-50%. I even marked down fat quarter bundles and half yard bundles of a lot of things.

Finally a winner

Hi Everyone,

Don't you hate it when you have an email miscommunication? I had one of those last night. It makes everyone feel bad all the way around... so while I have a sad morning I thought I would make it better by announcing the winner of the kit for this adorable mini:

The Random Number generator chose comment number 10 which was this:

It's a combination of 3 things: good photos of the fabric, good prices of said fabric, & photos of finished products entice me. If a place has at least 2 of those, it's a winner!

Thanks Jennifer! I am sending you an email right now :)

Hey Everyone,

Just a reminder we have 5 of our favorite designers on sale today as well as all of the other clearance items.

I made a Pineapple and our 3 Heathers, Lizzy, and an Alison Sale

Saturday, September 10, 2016
Yes, I made one this morning... so in love with this adorable block!

I can't wait to make more. Also I can't believe how tired I was from sewing one quilt block. Obviously this is going to be a long recovery...

Also we are continuing our National Sewing Month / Back to Crafting Month Monday sales:

Sale starts Sunday night at Midnight Eastern and continues until Midnight Eastern Monday 9/12. It will show up at the top of our shop page when it is time. Please do not use any other coupons or discounts with this sale. Don't forget you can purchase our new collections  and other clearance items at the same time and combine your shipping. Just a reminder. Our system does not save yardage that is in your cart. This means that you and someone else could check out at the same time with the same yardage. It happens when we have big sales but we will let you know if that happens before we send out your package. You can give us instructions.

Fabulous Fabric Friday, a giveaway, and a tutorial.

Friday, September 9, 2016
Hey Everyone,

We are hosting a giveaway on Maureen's blog. A $30 gift certificate to purchase what you like from our shop. Head over there to enter to win.

In my many career incarnations (I am a restless soul when it comes to occupation) I once worked in the travel industry. I worked for a Hawaiian tour company. Ever since I have had a love of Pineapple motifs. Whenever I see a pineapple it gives me a feeling of welcome it is a symbol of hospitality. So the trend with pineapples that is showing up now is really up my alley and I have been wanting to make a pineapple quilt. I was planning on using the yellows and greens from my Liberty stash to make a mini quilt and I think I still might but more as a piece of art to put in a frame. I thought it would also be fun to make a multi colored pineapple quilt. I sat down the other day and started playing around using Paintbox Basics and came up with this:

I am calling it Painted Pineapples. Would you like to make it with me? I will give you instructions for both a small size 32" x 40" and a large size 64" x 80". Also if you would like to buy the fabrics to make it I have created kits, one of the kits can be paid for in 4 payments and you can get a row at a time. I thought it would make the cost easier for those that have a limited monthly budget. This is a super simple pattern and quilt but I love the way the colors blend together in a rainbow wash.

You can find the tutorials here: (if you downloaded these first thing this morning, redo them, I made changes)

Small Version
Large Version

Ps. Keep in mind this is just a tutorial and was not meant to be a pattern so it is a bit more vague than you would find in an actual pattern. The numbers of squares to cut are approximate since it is meant to be a bit random. Keep your scraps in case you need extra squares of any of the fabrics.

Labor Day Sale and Back To Crafting Month

Monday, September 5, 2016
Hey Everyone,

We are having a sale today. You can find it here.

I was saying in the newsletter that I call September. Back to Crafting month ... when hopefully the temperatures are starting to cool and we are starting to think about fall and the kids are out of the house for a few hours. I always think of fall crafts as particularly homey. I wonder if it is because of the Holidays and remembering family times. Have you gotten your Pumpkin Spice Latte yet?

I didn't think about it until now but Maureen's new collection Nightfall fits perfectly with thoughts of Fall and homey crafting.

Since it is back to crafting month... keep an eye out each week for new deals on some of my favorite designer's fabrics. Let's make some beautiful projects for gifting and feathering our nests this fall!
