Hi Everyone,
This is going to be a short and sweet post.
Question:
Do you know of a charity that takes quilting fabric? If so can you send me the info?
Thanks in advance!
Now the giveaway. This is not an elegant giveaway. I have a ton of fabric I will never use again. I wish I knew a place locally that would take it but I don't. So I didn't fold it nicely and put a bow on it but it is a ton of fabric for free. There are two bundles so two winners will be drawn. All you have to do is tell me which one you like best. Please pick just one.. then I will put the names in seperate lists and draw winners for each.
1. Gobble Gobble by Sandy Gervais... a 1 gallon bag full of strips (for wonky log cabins but think of the spiderwebs etc that could be made) plus yardage... I haven't measured the yardage and I won't but it stacks up high as you can see compared to the gallon bag:
2. Authentic a small bag of large scraps and some yardage. There is a little there of all the fabrics in the line. It is the remnant of a fat quarter pack (some are full pieces that were too girlie for my son's quilt) There is one piece larger than a fat quarter as well. This is pre-washed.

Giveaway ends Thursday night at midnight PDT.
I love Gobble Gobble!
ReplyDeleteI love all of Sandy Gervais' fabric!
Thanks for the chance!
How fun! I would love Authentic... though honestly I like both haha!
ReplyDeleteThe authentic has my vote! I do not know of a specific charity, but the church by me takes fabric to make quilts that will be sent overseas. Perhaps a church in your area does the same?
ReplyDeleteOh I would love either one, but to pick just one, I would say Gobble Gobble!
ReplyDeleteEither would be fantastic! But since I have to choose one it would be Gobble Gobble. Thanks for your generosity!!
ReplyDeleteI would love some Gobble Gobble, I love all of her fabrics but don't have any of this one!
ReplyDeleteOh I love both but I have a daughter that would love something made from the Authentic. So that has my vote!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be the Authentic for me!
ReplyDeleteAnd as for your question about a charity that takes quilting fabric, our quilt ministry takes donations! We've had many quilt bloggers send us fabric this year, which has allowed us to make and distribute 56 quilts this year, over half of them in the last four months. I can give you more info about what we do if you will e-mail me!
what fun! I'm a huge fan of Sandy Gervais so that's my pick. Thanks for a chance to win
ReplyDeleteThis is tough because I want oranges and black/white for my scrap stash. I'm going to go with the Sandy Gervais because there is so much wonderful orange goodness there. Thanks for a chance at your great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI really like the Authentic! Thanks for the chance to win! Fun times!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like people are evenly split so far ... put me in the authentic 'hat' please ;-)
ReplyDeleteAs for fabric to donate, I would check with your local quilt guild--most have charity quilt efforts and many have someone who collects donated fabrics and puts them together in kits.
Very tough choice - today I would choose Gobble Gobble.
ReplyDeleteWould love to win the Authentic! Both are pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love both. I'll vote for authentic though. I'm sure you'll find a home for your fabric! My guild accepts donations and we all make donation quilts throughout the year. Do you have a quilting guild nearby?
ReplyDeleteI really like the gobble gobble fabric.
ReplyDeleteI don't know of any place that excepts fabric as donations. I am sure there is someplace somewhere. There just has to be ya know
Ooooooooooh Goble Goble.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for the Authentic. Hope your to-do list is dwindling away as we get pulled like taffy with holiday prep and December activities! Thank you for sharing your stash!

I like the Gobble Gobble by Sandy Gervais
ReplyDeleteYour local Good Will accepts quilting Fabric. Check local churches; they can usually direct you to a local craft group that quilts for charity.
I know there are a number of Bloggers who make quilts for charity, too. Best of luck finding a home for your excess fabric.
Quilts of Valor makes quilts for veterans in VA hospitals and I just donated 5 bags of fabric to the local chapter.

I think you would need to contact a local chapter to arrange donation.
It works the same way with Project Linus--they make quilts for kids.
