Hey Everyone,
Six years ago today we got our business license and opened shop. It's been quite a ride and everything is changing this year... but it's been fun right?
We have a bit of new Tilda in and I just realized I hadn't posted here that we have the newest collection up for pre-order. This is Tilda Circus which is coming April/Early May
We also got a few little bits in that look like this:
You can find them at this link as well.
We have Charleston coming this week so I thought it might be fun to do a giveaway with that.... There are 16 prints... here is a pre-view by Amy
To win just answer this simple question: What is a new trend that you have seen that you would like to incorporate into your home decor?
I have a reason for asking that question but I am not going to tell you what it is yet :)
I will draw a winner next Friday.
Love,
Julie

Neutral comforters with colorful bed runners. Also, dark backgrounds (blackish & grays) may be coming back for quilts. sjvonfumetti at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteColorful cushions are my attraction now. Trying to make some to make some to display according to seasons.
ReplyDeleteI am seeing a lot of minimalistic features lately, completely bare counters, sparse decoration, clean open spaces -- I love the look and would love to embrace it, but my inner Mess Monster makes it unlikely to happen! I can't even keep my sewing table in order, so not much luck for the rest of the house!
ReplyDeleteNot sure if it's a trend, but I read a post about decorating with old window panes. I'd like to get my hands on one and add a mirror behind it to hang above my fireplace. I love the idea of that! (I also love these fabrics!)
ReplyDeleteIt's been a trend for awhile now, but I'm loving a lot of the farmhouse vibe---the "simpler things". Thanks! marshudson AT comcast DOT net
ReplyDeleteI would like to use the flamingo color as an accent in our home.rita_l_39212@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteNot so much a decorating scheme, but my goal this weekend is to have all horizontal spaces cleared. Our little house is just feeling too little and I'm hoping this might help.
ReplyDeleteI like the farmhouse look ala Joanna Gaines with crisp whites and soft grays. Mostly I like a clean decluttered look.
ReplyDeleteI really like the Scandinavian minimalist trend.
ReplyDeleteI have seen collections organized in a clean style, for those of us that have those sort of things! I have tried to do this with all my photos in my home and it's a nice look.
ReplyDeleteLove these fabrics! Thank you for the giveaway. 💜
ReplyDeletePersonalization of the home with the homeowners' assets (wall art made by the homeowner). Loving the gray/green pantones.
ReplyDeleteMinimalist seems to be the way to go so more organization is popular now. Bins and cupboards to get things put away. Also, saturated colors with flamingo pink and also dark blues and mustard colors.
ReplyDeleteI would like more storage baskets to keep things neater. They have so many great options out there now. I like the natural fiber baskets to keep things all tucked away and yet accessible.
ReplyDeleteIt does seem that clean lines and soft grays are showing up a lot, and then with lots of pillows in bolder colors. Amy's designs are so sweet.

Probably not a new trend (as I tend to be six steps behind), but bright colors as an accent have caught my attention lately.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure about this, but to simplify and just add some color accents has caught my attention.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I am seeing a lot of smaller projects lately mini quilts that have their own dedicated wall. I am loving the look.
ReplyDeleteNavy becoming more popular and replacing black in some cases.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. Mini quilts and also minimalism.
ReplyDeleteI would love to find time to sew a few pillows, possibly using Churn Dash block or paper piecing. Not sure if it's a trend, but I would like it. Thank you, peterstankovich@comcast.net
ReplyDeleteA more neutral wall color for bedrooms.,
ReplyDeleteI don't know if this is new but I have seen a lot of small quilts. When I get the current projects, I would like to fill the walls in my sewing room with some small quilts. There are a few walls in the rest of the house where I could put some wall quilts. Nancy A: rangerer@sbcglobal.net
ReplyDeleteI love the new "farmhouse" trend. I am hoping to incorporate it into my home one little piece at a time. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI love the clean, white looks of furniture with bright accents and floral and embroidered pillows and quilts to hang on the walls.

I am never sure what is a trend...but when I'm looking through my magazines, I am often seeing fine art being mixed with "garage sale" art and art created by family members, and all of it being displayed together in a warm, loving way--which I read as, if you love it, show it. We've tried to do that in our home, by matting prints from children's books alongside original watercolors by family members alongside art we purchased next to my mini quilts, but I'm more determined than ever to stretch the boundaries of what we display. I've made shadow boxes using antique photos I love, instead of having them in a drawer, for example.
ReplyDeleteI like the downsizing of big furniture pieces. I've noticed that sofas, chairs, tables and just furniture in general are not quite as big and heavy looking as they were. I like it not only because it allows more area in a room but I also don't have to struggle to get free of one of them. I always felt like I was being swallowed by the sofa.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your sixth anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI really like groupings of mini quilts as art. I love to make mini quilts and I intend to start a collection of them around a theme, to use on my sewing area's walls.
I am also planning a mural for my staircase area. The theme is The Little Mermaid. I am using an image of her from a coloring book, using a projector to transfer it to the wall. The stairs will look like the sandy sea floor, and the walls water with some cute fish and she will be on a large rock on the landing, I am excited to start on this!
My email is: bestbelle2010@aol.com
Thanks!
After 29 years of having the same couch (recovered twice), we're about to totally redo our living area - which means all new furniture. Homey with few knicknacks has been my trend previously (because I didn't want to dust around them) but this time I think we're going for clean but color. Our red/gold couch is homey and this time I think I'd like to go for a teal nubby fabric or something equally as poppish.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I have noticed a lot more mini quilts and a lot of straight-line quilting, especially in more modernistic patterns. Thank you, Susan
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Modern quilts are so popular right now. I would love to work some into my décor.
ReplyDeleteEveryone wants that farmhouse look including me! I think we can thank Chip and Johanna Gaines for this trend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance :) tghjlw at gmail dot com
I love the farm house look. Happy Birthday and thank you for having this giveaway. Love the fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI love the farm house look. Happy Birthday and thank you for having this giveaway. Love the fabrics.
ReplyDeleteLots of neutrals in floors and walls and larger pieces of furniture.
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS ON "6"! Loving the Neutrals-Low Volumes with Navy+Grays! Thank You so much for a lovely giveaway! msstitcher1214@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteSimplicity...trying to declutter by donating, recycling. (I don't know about anyone else, but I have got to clean out the plasticware cabinet...the plasticware is taking up far too much kitchen real estate)....actually, to make more room for my craft supplies and fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of oblivious to new trends and prefer to do my own thing most of the time. Right now my current trend is to finish the several projects that I've started. Love the giveaway fabric! Would use it to start another project!
ReplyDeleteLots of throw pillows. Every shape, size and color. Something that is easy to sew and can add a pop of color to inside decorating, and that porch or deck as well.
ReplyDeleteI don't really keep up with trends, but I do know that there is a de-cluttering movement. I probably need to join that, but I'm too busy sewing to take the time to fool with it!
ReplyDeleteI just gave my kitchen a facelift, and added light blue glass subway tiles.
ReplyDeletelenelson(at)mail(dot)com
I`m not much on trends but look for fabrics that brighten and give a fresh look to our home, that is what looking at`Tilda Circus` inspires me to do.
ReplyDeleteI like the bed runner idea, have a pattern just need fabric!
ReplyDeletecork@pa.rr.com
I want to incorporate a pop of color into all of my neutrals. Just had walls painted a pretty greige color and sofa recovered in a neutral gray. I now need to find just the right color for throe pillows, tufted ottoman and drapes. C_dragon at earthlink dot net
ReplyDeleteI see talk of farmhouse sinks in the kitchen...they sure are pretty. congratulations on six years! raising a glass to many more
ReplyDeleteI like the shift over the past few years back to aged gold tones in hardware. My husband thinks it is still too early, though!
ReplyDeleteI love all the weathered wood pieces, e.g.. picture frames, clipboards, baskets, etc. I am in the process of making these and am using paint wash to create a retro look. I have made many things for my studio so much so that I can't put anything more in the room, I love it!
ReplyDeleteI am also making more traditional quilts so I need to start collecting more civil war reproduction prints. I'll put one of these onto my own queen sized bed.
love the old country/weathered look!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on six years and more to come!I don't really keep up with trends, but I am a lover of bed runner so a new one would be welcome or a large table!
ReplyDeletebig hexie tile. a velvet sofa in pink or mint or - ok, fine - navy.
ReplyDeleteI love fun things made with mason jars (vases, lights...) Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI am seeing a lot of tufted velvet sofas, in modern settings. Ooooooo, I want one!
ReplyDeleteI would like to get an outdoor sectional for our back patio with some cool outdoor lights. Happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteAround here, a lot of folks have lighted, brass wire Christmas type trees on the porch, that stay up all year. They really look pretty at night. Here's to many more years of business!
ReplyDeleteThe trend that interests me is the minimalist style... but I doubt that I could ever do that in our home!!! I am a bit of a hoarder and can't get rid of anything!!! I am trying to simplify a bit at a time and it's looking less cluttered in our home!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your birthday. I have been enjoying the mini quilt trend.
ReplyDeleteI love the trend towards Mason jars and LED lights ~ we just installed two over our kitchen island in our log cabin. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove the Charleston line! BEAUTIFUL!! I have been watching too much Fixer Upper! Love Johanna's industrial style of home decor. I'd like to incorporate some of the "metal" work that she often displays, such as tin containers, metal signs, etc. khauglan (at) yahoo (d)ot (com)
ReplyDeleteI love the new pot plant holders on legs, they are like a small table. I could still make a gorgeous pot plant pouch and sit on top of it.
ReplyDeleteI'm seeing a lot of Scandinavian style and it suits the minimalist in me.
ReplyDeleteThe farmhouse decor is so pretty. Totally not usually my style but I love it!
ReplyDeleteI like the light, white/neutral with splashes of color.
ReplyDeleteA bright colorful large pillow! Particularly in pineapple motifs. yoyopattycakes at Hotmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI would like to make a quilted foot runner for my bed.
ReplyDeleteI like the Scandinavian neutral with pops of color. jarvenpa1ne at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteBig stitching, like kantha quilts for bedrooms and throws. Thanks for the giveaway. Tarnia.hodges at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I'm not really up on new trends, but I like the new area rugs that have a pattern that makes them look old and faded. Makes the pattern soft and more of a background to the room rather than a bold pattern.
ReplyDeleteI live in the country so my house is all country. I would love to change it to bright, geometric, bold colors.
ReplyDeleteWe live in an old Farmhouse...original part was built in 1830. Needs some redoing...and I would like a rustic farmhouse look...we have replaced old window..that were still the old wavy panes...I want to use them in here in some way. Also alot of the old beams & such too, that are stored in the barn..
ReplyDeleteLlamas. I love Elizabeth Hartman's pattern and all the Llama fabric too.
ReplyDeleteI would like to use a lot of neutrals in my quilts, with a pop of color in between.
ReplyDeleteMore simplistic decorating. I am loving the white and soft gray look! Wouldn't it be fun to throw a bright modern quilt in that mix!!
ReplyDeleteCjpike (at) indiana (dot) edu
A new trend that I am crushing on here is metalwork signs. These are rusty metal sheets (think metal roofing sheets) that have almost anything you want laser inscribed or cut into them. They are especially great for outdoor living spaces. I hope to have one with a fantastic/over the top poodle on it as a screen to create a wall In our fire pit area!
ReplyDeleteRight now I am really liking darker colored walls with bright and colorful accent pillows, wall hangings and table runners. Thanks!
ReplyDeletePlease click on the delaineelliott above for my email link.
Crisp white walls with some type of texture. And adding color with accessories.
ReplyDeleteI have no clue what is current in decorating, but I would love to be able to do a minimalist/uncluttered space. But let's face it, I am a messy guy.
ReplyDeleteGrey is the new taupe. For years everywhere I looked I saw shades of brown as my friends moved away from white walls in their homes. Thanks to the farmhouse look, grey and white walls are coming back! They provide a clean palette for addition of color in accent pieces.
ReplyDeleteBold color pillows. I need more of them.
ReplyDeleteBed Runners - don't have space to do a full size quilt - thanks.
ReplyDeleteI like the salvage trend (reclaimed wood, windows, etc.)but I am not so inclined to the work of it! Thanks for the great give away. crazeematz@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteBeing a crafter, the whole minimalist style is attractive (as I sit amongst my clutter).
ReplyDeleteI like the look of white as an accent color in home decor.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how trendy this might be, but the original, 14 year old carpeting could sure use replacing! While we're at it, maybe we could replace the hideous laminate in the adjoining bedroom too? Happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteLess is more is my new motto....and we are painting our updated rooms with a pale gray....
ReplyDeleteI am the least trendy person around! I am usually one of the last people to jump on the trend boat too! I'm just going with clean and simple, you cannever go wrong with that!
ReplyDeleteWe are building our house, so I have been trolling Pinterest trying to figure that out! I've come to the conclusion that my taste is "industrial farmhouse". I'm painting the walls a neutral color (slightly different in each room), with accent's of color in accessories, along with bringing in woods & metal elements. I'm so excited to start painting!!
ReplyDeleteWalls in taupe shades are now transformed to shades of grey. Love the colors used to accent them.
ReplyDeleteFree standing bathtubs seem to be the trendy thing to incorporate into a bathroom renovation. They look nice but i'm not sure how easy they are to get in and out of (as we age) - I'm still debating. eliz.i@sympatico.ca
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and Happy Birthday! I would like to add some pillows with bright colors and geometric shape fabrics for fun!
ReplyDeleteI would like to decorate with my handmade quilts. I have a 14 ft. stair well that is just calling for a quilt to be hung!!
ReplyDeleteI'd go with the Scandinavian look, although I'd never conquer it. Too much stuff!
ReplyDeleteI would love to go minimalist but, that would mean a consistent habit of putting everything in its place -- so unlikely for me
ReplyDeletesharongalli@gmail.com
I love the vintage "repurposed" trend, ship lap on walls and sliding barn doors!
ReplyDeletehappy b'day. i like the bare floors (no carpet) and light walls and pops of color.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who doesn't get around too well these days, I'd be happy with just about anything as long as someone else came to my home and implemented it!! lol!! Happy Birthday!!
ReplyDeletelstangl482 at aol dot com
Wood flooring instead of carpeting.
ReplyDeleteI like the clean, uncluttered look. I'm currently preparing to move and decluttering a LOT!!
ReplyDeleteI like the trend of making walls a dark neutral, and adding accents with pops of colors in pillows and quilts....
ReplyDeleteSusie
Hand Embroidery/Illustration on pillows, runners, etc.
ReplyDeleteAnd old furniture or things like folding doors, window panes incorporated into new furniture or display racks, sitting or handing on walls.
Happy 6th BD to you and your family. THank you all, your Shop is THEE Best!
schimmel(dot)db(at)gmail(dot)com
I would like to incorporate the little metal hooks that you put on the wall. They have an animal or different things like that on them. Super cute!
ReplyDeleteI redid my kitchen 10 years ago and went with white cabinets, white appliances, and lighter counter tops instead of the very dark wood and granite. Now I see that most of kitchens are showing these colors. Love the Tilda, wasn't that impressed at first, but this line is gorgeous. Congrats on 6 years.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to go for the less is better look. More free space on my built-ins and tabletops. Less cluttered looking. Also thinking of re painting with a creamy color
ReplyDeleteThe use of linen in quilts has me intrigued and I'd love to know about how to incorporate them in my projects. Love your shop!! Happy Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteSigns with sayings on them instead of just pictures hanging up on the walls.
ReplyDeleteNeutral backgrounds with pops of color
ReplyDeleteWould love to have a monochromatic look. Especially if if was uncluttered!
ReplyDeleteScreen printed fabrics. Not sure if it's a new trend, but I love the look.
ReplyDeleteMini quilts to hang on your walls seem to be a trend right now. I love them.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on six years! KonMari is my new trend. This summer I am going to spend my vacation at home decluttering.
ReplyDeleteI love the new barn doors (ala Chip & Joanna Gaines) and will have them in our new house that we see for the first time tomorrow! Very exciting! We are moving from Colorado to Florida and our son and his wife oversaw the construction that we haven't seen yet (except for pictures)!
ReplyDeleteHmm..new trend? Well, I've seen mini quilt walls...I'd love one of those.
ReplyDeleteI love the Bright green that is the trend now for wall coverings and accessories of different textures. Add a bright wall quilt as a focal point.
ReplyDeleteakk_nana@yahoo.com
A more minimalist style would be great, but not sure it's realistic for us! Maybe some new bright improv quilted pillows will be a start.
ReplyDeletepillows in al sorts of colors, shapes and sizes added to a neutral background.
ReplyDeleteI'm focusing on two trends this year, house-wise: Minimalizing for the public areas, and Art-walls in the dining room - specifically going for an Art Deco ala Miss Fisher style there.
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing a lot of farm style or simple decor.
ReplyDeleteIt's not necessarily new, but recessed lighting...specifically LED lighting.
ReplyDeletePastels - lots of them. Do like the Art Deco trend :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know if this is a trend in home decor, but I want to make a quilt using different substrates. Nothing crazy. Maybe cotton and linen to get started.
ReplyDeleteI have seen a few chairs reupholstered in quilted fabrics made from old quilts or quilt designs appliqued onto background fabric...would love to do that myself! mumbird3(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDelete
