A public service announcement

Hi Everyone,

I have gotten some super sweet comments this morning that I would love to respond to. Unfortunately those persons were "no reply" meaning I had no way to email back. (this is  hard when doing a giveaway because we have no way to contact you) I understand if you want to do this for privacy sake but if not, and you just didn't know it was happening, here is how to fix it in blogger:

When you are signed into your account on blogger in the interface up in the right hand corner you will see your display name. There is a down arrow next to it. Click the arrow. Then click the link that says "blogger profile". When your profile shows up there is another button there in the upper right hand corner that says "edit profile" click that. There in the list you should find a place to put a check mark to show your email address. Check that and save. Then it is all fixed.

If you are like me you might have thought that you already did this. I did have it correct but when the new interface took over it was reset to not show my email address. I like to get emails back from people I comment to so I show my email in my comments. If you don't want to do this that is fine but do leave a way to contact you if you leave a comment for a giveaway.

Word Verification and a Coupon Code

Hi Everyone,

About the middle of yesterday I decided to turn off word verification for comments. I had turned it on because I was getting spam and with the 100-200 legitimate emails I get a day I didn't need more with spam from comments. I had complatins that people don't like doing word verification so I took a chance and removed it. Well I have already had about 50 spam comments since I stopped. I am turning it back on. Some of them aren't even ugly spam... but I am still not going to deal with it. If you look at yesterdays post you can see the one I left active there. Trying disabling anonymous comments and seeingouw that goes. Thanks for the tip Katy.

An Exciting Announcment...QAL with traceyjay

Hi Everyone,

Here is a little something that has been in the works for the last month or two. One of my sweet friends (who you might know from Moda Bake Shop fame) has designed this super sweet quilt called Treasure Boxes.... wait let me start at the beginning... I have been a fan of Tracey's for a few years now and when she decided to start an Etsy shop to benefit a Mission in Haiti called Heartline (if you have been around a while here you have heard me talk about it) she and I partnered up. We had a little hiccup (happily) when she got pregnant with her daughter and had to let this go for a little while but we are getting it back on track. As you know I support Heartline every month with profits from the shop and that is what made me decide to start the shop in the first place.... fast forward to a month or so ago when Tracey asked if I would like to partner with her to do a Quilt Along to benefit charity... well, of course! So was born the Treasure Boxes Quilt Along:

And for this quilt along she will be making it from Out to Sea if you decide to join the Quilt Along there is a special deal for the fabrics to make it. I will let you read about it over here on Tracey's blog

So if you are wondering what I sewed yesterday... I finished 4 Bee blocks. I also got the basics on the houses done for my Neighborhood quilt from Elizabeth Hartman's book, this is my favorite version made from Madrona Road. I am making mine from some of my stash... Going Coastal and Shore Thing by Emily Herrick. It is coming out really wild and I am hoping I love it. Here are the bee blocks I made:

I will get some pictures once the roofs are on the houses for my quilt.

I guess I better get to work.
