Hi Everyone,
Wow, I can't believe it is the end of this crazy year! Believe me when I woke up on 1/1/2012 I never thought I would have a Brick and Mortar shop by the end of the year. It was the furthest thing from my mind. I am still wondering if I am insane to be doing this.
It was a sad year here at the end with all of the tragedies. I hope that everyone had at least one bright spot this year and I pray next year will be the best one ever.
We had fabric avalanche again... want to see what came in?

A very acquisitive year in all, for me.
All the best for 2013.

ReplyDeleteMy best purchase this year was the monthly FMQ challenge on Sew cal gal's website and the best thing is that it was free - it forced me out of my comfort zone and got me to test my limits with FMQ and especially feathers. I am so much more confident now than I was last Jan.

ReplyDelete2012 was the year of organizing and sorting through 50 years of my collection of special fiber things, along with the collections from my mother and my grandmother. I purchased great containers for the collections and now can use these wonderful memory pieces in my work. It was also the year that I received a wonderful thread collection of over 400 spools of metallics and specialty threads as a retirement gift from a dear friend. The year now is completed and my muse is ready to direct the orchestra. Here comes the symphony.

ReplyDeleteMy favourite purchase in 2012 was my bundle of Amy Butler Cameo from your lovely shop! I am hoping to add some Alchemy fabrics in 2013 (voile maybe?) to make a drapey infinity scarf. I absolutely love Lizzy House, and constellation might be my fave Collection of hers yet (I even like it more than Lizzy Dish, which I didn't think was possible!!).
ReplyDeleteI waited and waited for the pezzys to arrive, and when they did, I bought a yard of every color you had. ReplyDeleteI acquired a Brother CS-6000i! I couldn't believe it - when I ripped off the wrapping paper, I nearly cried! I'd been sewing on my grandmother's 1952 Singer behemoth that weighs about 45 pounds. This new machine is much more portable and easier to take on and off of my dining table aka sewing table. (Small quarters 'round here)

ReplyDeleteI recently purchased some tube-thingies that you can use to push fabric tubes (like arms, legs, tails for stuffed animals) inside out and stuff as you go. It's called "Quick Turn" by Dritz, I got it at Jo-Anne Fabrics for $8 and it has saved me a LOT of time in making stuffed animals!
