Patchwork City BOM

Hey Everyone,

We are still waiting (not so) patiently for the books. Is anyone else as excited about it as I am? We have them up for pre-sale at Amazon prices here.  The cost for the sign up includes the book. If you have already pre-ordered the book but want in on the BOM we will have a no book option, email me or comment on this post for notification about the no book option.

I have been working out how we are going to do this would you like to know? We will have two different programs.

First will be for the Metro Area Quilt which is 90" by 90" and uses all 75 blocks from the book. 

We will be doing this very similar in style and colors to what Elizabeth did. We will have the exact same solids and we will have a selection of black, white, and grey prints to fussy cut. There is no way to replace all of the fabrics she used but we will use fun animals and objects that can be fussy cut. Additionally we will be providing small scale basics that match the solids and small scale black, white and grey prints. Since you will need the background fabric to sash your block sections the book and your background will come as the first month in December (to avoid problems with dye lots your background will all be from the same bolt). The program for the blocks will be 13 months starting in January.

Here is the rundown:
November - December (depends on when the book makes it here) - Book and Background
January 2015 - Fabric for section 1 and 14
February - Fabric for section 2 and 15
March - Fabric for section 3 and 16
April - Fabric for section 4 and 17
May - Fabric for section 5 and 18
June - Fabric for section 6 and 19
July - Fabric for section 7 and 20
August - Fabric for section 8 and 21
September - Fabric for section 9 and22
October - Fabric for section 10 and 23
November - Fabric for section 11 and 24
December - Fabric for section 12 and 25
January 2016- Fabric for section 13 and binding

Each month (besides the first and and last month) you will get:

2 FQs of solids
2 FQs to fussy cut in black, white, or grey
6 F8s Small scale prints to match solids
4 F8s Black, white, grey small scale prints

The cost will be $29 per month including shipping in the US. Please contact me if you are international and would like to sign up.

These will be billed monthly on the 15th and be shipped on the 22nd. Any packages not paid by the 22th will be cancelled.

The Second program will be for the Westside quilt which is 56" by 56' and uses just the twenty-five 8" blocks.

We will use Cotton & Steel prints and basics for the blocks since the original was done in Melody Miller fabrics I thought it would be appropriate. The new Cotton & Steel fabrics come out in January and they co-ordinate with the ones that we already have so there will be a blend of these and anything else that comes out (I am thinking they will have a Spring collection too) next year.. Plenty of fun things for fussy cutting and of course... who doesn't love Cotton & Steel? Please note the colors will be those used in the Cotton & Steel line and not those necessarily pictured above.

Woohoo... The Forest Abstractions Quilt

Sometimes at Quilt Market you see something that just grabs you and won't let go. If you were following along with us on Facebook or Instagram you saw this quilt by Violet Craft more than once:

Ever since then I have been bugging Violet about when she was going to release the pattern. So this morning my wishes came true and I got an email about it. The pattern is being released July 1st. We will be starting a Block of the Month with it as soon as the fabric arrives from Michael Miller sometime in July. Violet is also hosting a quilt along (the pattern is not included for free in the quilt along) she will provide tips and techniques for each month of the quilt along.

I have the pattern up for pre-sale on the website. I have pre-ordered quite a few but I want to make sure that we get enough so if you want one you can pre-order it here

You are not committing to the BOM by buying the pattern but you will be offered the opportunity to purchase the kit when the fabrics arrive. Shipping is free on the pattern and they will ship when they arrive.

I am proud of myself ... I have almost all of my Low Volume quilt done. Just another hour or so to go and it will be finished. It is going to be our charity pattern for the year so I can't wait to share it with you all.

So we are starting a Block of the Month using this beautiful book! Each month we will make 10 blocks from the book to showcase. If you decide to join us, you will receive the 10 fabrics that we use for our blocks. These are small blocks, so they are easily made with fat eighths.
