For the Love of New and Old Friends, A Challenge, and Giveaway.

Hi Everyone,

I am so excited that I actually have something creative to show you today. Back in October at Quilt Market my friends and I were loitering around Vanessa Christenson's booth. Talking about her new adorable patterns and how much we loved her new springy fabric line Color Me Happy. The idea of a challenge was raised when Ms. V gave us each a mini charm pack... because don't we all need new ideas about what to do with those cute little Moda candy packs? Today is our reveal day. Now I would love to say that I had plenty of time and started right away but, of course, I finished it yesterday at 4 PM LOL

It is called "Looking Up" I did a combo of  big stitch hand quilting with Aurifil 12 wt thread in colors that match the fabrics and machine quilting. The arrows are Color Me Happy of course and the background is natural linen from the Mochi Dot collection. I will have a pattern available soon for both the mini (this is 24" square) and a lap quilt size. Color Me Happy Comes out next month but we have some pre-cuts in, including the mini charm packs that we used for our projects. It's Raining....

Literally and ... Literally... It is raining outside and due to the kind of roof the shop has every year it rains inside the shop as well. Until the roofers come out and fix it, again, every year. This time it was over the computer desk... oh joy! Last year it was in about 8 places over the fabric shelves... luckily we caught the leaks (with garbage cans) before we had any wet fabrics.

Yep, that's Botanics... some of it got here yesterday but 8 bolts were delayed getting to the warehouse so they will be a week or two later... mostly because of the Holiday weekend next week. These arrived a week earlier than I expected. We will have bundles back up for sale as soon as the rest comes in.

Color Me Happy - Challenge With New Friends

Hi Everyone,

Here is a little something else that happened at Market....

Have you ever noticed that when you are hanging out with good friends, cracking each other up, and talking too loud... that not only do you attract strange looks but you also attract strange people new friends. Yeah, that is true. So the girls and I were hanging out at Vanessa's booth laughing and generally gushing over Color Me Happy and the new patterns which... let's face it... are pretty awesome. That is when we met Joanna. She fit right in from the start, she could take our teasing and give as good as she got... she had the idea to do a challenge with the mini charm packs that Vanessa had in her booth. So on the spot the group was born.
