Happy Monday with Happy Quilting

Hi Everyone,

Today you get to see something fun that has been happening behind the scenes over here. Melissa from Happy Quilting asked me a few weeks ago if I would like to kit up her next pattern. Well what do you think? I jumped at the chance. I love all of her fun patterns on Moda Bake Shop don't you? So this is the super adorable pattern...

Melissa picked Apple Of My Eye do you believe it has only been a week since it came into the shop and I shipped it out and she already has the quilt made and quilted and in a pattern? Wow that is some fast and wonderful work! I have the kit for sale in the shop as well as the pattern by itself. If you buy the kit you are getting the pattern for free and paying just my regular (low, super great, awesome) price for the fabric. Friday Fun Day... The Giveaway

The truth about my photography skills...

I don't have any...

It's true I don't have any photography skills. I can fake it for taking pictures of fabric bundles when there is a the right light (which is most of the time... Thank you California) But honestly I need to take a photography class because artful photography is not my forte! What brought this up? I remember something I made ... I had to go look up when I made it... March of last year :

This is about as artsy as my photography gets. I had no idea at the time how popular this color scheme was going to be this year. When I was first putting it together the tangerine pluses were going to be red but I saw the tangerine on the shelf and couldn't help myself. I had to change it. Believe it or not there are 20 different colors of teal in there...

So back to photography...  I really need to take a class... what are your best tips on artful photography? what setting should I use on my camera to take a good sunshine picture without getting it all washed out? I have a good camera a DSLR and I have messed with the f-stop and stuff so ... I can take it... :)

Wow! There is so much going on in blog land. I wish I had more time to read everything. I only get to take a browse through every morning though. If you are signed up for the newsletter you got it last night. Can I just say it was almost a day late with the big weekend sale and everything I was so tired... But yay it is done. I hope you all enjoy those sweet projects! If you missed it, or missed signing up, let me know I will forward it to you.

In the Newsletter I said that Butterflies are the new Birds and what I meant was... there are so many fabric lines coming out with butterflies on them this year. We already had Hello Pilgrim and this Friday Cocoon will be here:

I got to sew this weekend but it was for a super secret project that is yet to be revealed. Soon though very soon. It was urgent that I get it done, though, so that took up my Saturday.
