Happy Monday.. An Apple A Day Book Blog Tour

Monday, July 2, 2012

Yes, it is my turn....

An Apple A Day book is centered around a day in the life of a quilter/sewist. There are 9 projects to take you from morning to evening. Centered around sewing and family life.

The Box on the cover is designed by our fearless leader Amanda Herring of The Quilted Fish she,of course, also designed the fabulous fabric that we used for the projects in the book. The book can be purchased on her website here
My project for the book is the "Pack and Press" bag. It is designed to carry your rotary cutting mat, cutting tools, and rulers to class or sew day. It has a fold out panel that you can iron on so you don't have to carry a big bulky ironing board with you. We affectionately call it the Pack and Play...

 This is the pocket inside

This is it with the ironing surface open.

To see a photo of what it looks like closed you can click over to the purchase page here

There are some brilliant projects in this book. I love Amanda's Sewing Box which you can see on the cover it has nesting boxes on the inside to hold your sewing bits.

The first project in the book is this Necklace by Jackie:

At Quilt Market all of the girls from the team that were able to come worked in the booth with shop owners making these necklaces. It was very industrious of them. I was not able to help because of all of my appointments with fabric manufacturers but I could tell everyone was having fun.
So... would you like to win a kit to make this necklace?

All you have to do is click over to Amanda's shop and tell me which project picture most intrigues you.

Don't forget I am giving away one of my copies of the book here.

Tomorrow head on over to Sally's for the next leg of the tour.

You can also click on the button on the right side of the blog to see the full tour list with links if you miss a day.

Have an Awesome Monday!

  10. Julie, The necklace if FAB but the "Pack and Play" is OUTSTANDING. Now I have to add another book to my collection just so I have the pattern. Woot Woot, any excuse for a new book. I believe that Amanda's sewing box is what I would love to have second, so it is my favorite picture from her shop. Did I do that right? Thanks for a great giveaway.
