Friday Fun Day... and the beginning of the giveaway party

Friday, May 25, 2012
Hi Everyone,

Did you ever wonder where the "Friday Fun Day" title for all of my Friday posts came from? Well, even if you didn't I am gonna tell you :) Back... way back LOL About 2 yrs ago... maybe a year and a half...whatever... I applied to be a contributor to the creative team of a designer named Amanda Herring AKA The Quilted Fish. That was before the shop and all of the accompanying crazyness. We, the Team, created items with her fabric and posted tutorials on her blog every Friday. So I would title my posts Friday Fun Day and direct you over to her blog to see the latest cuteness... This year we have been working on a secret project. THE BOOK here is a picture of the cover:

I can't take any credit at all but I am so proud of this book. The pictures are beautiful and vibrant on glossy paper. Every page is a feast for the eyes. Even the directions pages have Amanda's style all over them. Honestly, It is so much fun to look through. The box on the cover is by Amanda herself. It is a sewing kit box, those flowers are pincushions. Just saying ...because I can... Amanda is brilliant you should see her new pattern for a sewn dollhouse complete with a backyard. Totally Genius!

This quilt is by someone you will know from my Newsletter, Brooke. I have been so fortunate to make these 9 ladies my friends and abuse cherish their friendship in everything I do :)

This Mini is by someone else you will know if you hang around here any time at all... Sally

This is the make and take project the girls were teaching in the Market booth. Cute huh? This was made by Jackie

There are 5 more projects and awesome ladies in the book as well... ummm me included.

So the first Giveaway for the 500th post giveaway is a copy of this book. I will even sign my pattern (a rotary cutting mat carrying bag with a fold out ironing surface) called Pack and Press (we fondly refer to it as the Pack and Play).

Just leave a message here saying anything you want :) but keep it PG please :)

Have an awesome Friday Fun Day :)

Apple Of My Eye is here!

Tuesday, April 10, 2012
Hi Everyone,

The Quilted Fish's Apple Of My Eye is here... Thanks for making us pretties again Amanda!

Happy Monday! Let's talk color...

Monday, April 9, 2012
Hi Everyone,

As soon as I get up from this chair it is going to be a busy day. Maybe I will sit here a while longer :) Apple Of My Eye is coming today and so are a few new basics from Art Gallery... I am having so much fun filling out the colors in my basics. I am trying to pick colors that are a little out of my normal range.

I call this Hot Chocolate
It is exciting and new to have golds and chocolates and not my usual blues and greens (well, not all the time anyway). I decided to go look at the Pantone Color Trends for this year to see what will be upcoming in the fashion world as far as color goes... I am always so amazed with 20/20 hindsight ...when I look at the trends for Spring/Summer they are all the colors that are selling well in the shop right now.

Free Spirit Designer Solids Tango

Moda Bella Solids Yellow

Free Spirit Designer Solids Mulberry

Art Gallery Pure Elements Cherry Lipgloss

Moda Bella Solids Admiral

Moda Bella Solids Pistachio

Art Gallery Pure Elements Fresh Water

Art Gallery Pure Elements Ash

So what is coming for Fall/Winter?

Art Gallery Pure Elements Chocolate

Art Gallery Pure Elements Empire Yellow

Moda Bella Solids Magenta

Free Spirit Designer Solids Tangerine

Art Gallery Pure Elements Emerald

Art Gallery Pure Elements Dark Citron

Art Gallery Pure Elements Parisian Blue
Free Spirit Designer Solids Slate Grey

Free Spirit Designer Solids Lilac

Should be a fun year!

It's My Party and I'll Craft If I Want To...

Wednesday, October 19, 2011
Okay it isn't really my party... it is Amanda's but since she is letting us Creative Consultants help host it all around the country and the world... well you get the picture.

This is Delighted... just in case you haven't seen it around here enough :) What you can't see from the pictures is how amazing this would be for Christmas decorations. It would also be oh so adorable for any room in the house but especially a spunky girl... and this adorable bunting panel....

Imagine the Tea Parties!

All of the girls on the design team are celebrating in their own way today. Sally and Brooke have party posts up already so when you are done here you should go over there and check it out. Really if you aren't following the other girls on the team you should think about doing it... they are so amazing and creative. Here is the entire list:

While Sally was here last week we recorded a video for you so you could have instructions for the craft we are making. It is a Bottlecap Pin Cushion and she and I decided to add a ring to it. Here is the video.. you will get to hear my voice instead of just reading my typing... and the music is from Sally's band's first album... so cool!

This was done in one take so please be kind LOL

What would a party be without a goodie bag to take home? So yes, Virginia, there is a giveaway. I will be choosing ten people to send a bottle cap pin cushion kit to. All you will have to supply is the glue and fiber fill. I will even send you a ring in case you want to make a ring pin cushion like we did in the video. One lucky winner will win a fat quarter pack of one of the colorways of Delighted of their choosing. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and I will pick the winners on Monday 10/24

... in shop news Lark did not come yesterday but it will be here next Monday... what did come yesterday is the most beautiful solid fabric I have ever seen... Free Spirit Designer Solids are gorgeous. They have a soft satiny finish to the hand that is just to die for. The colors are vibrant... honestly the prettiest solids I have seen. I will have them up in the shop tomorrow.... just a few colors to start but I will be ordering more.

Let's Par-tay

Monday, October 10, 2011
Hi Everyone,

I am so glad he found us LOL Just kiddin'. So how was your weekend? I didn't get as much sewing done as planned but:

I did finish the center of the top of my Pillow Talk Swap pillow. I hope my partner likes it because I have a crush on it for sure!

I also got my banner finished for Amanda's party. I will get a picture of it today when the sun comes out to show you tomorrow.

I received my mug rug swap over the weekend I was just lucky that it got here because the envelope was ripped wide open.

Cuteness look at those adorable owls and birds!

Have a wonderful start to the week... see you tomorrow :)

Talk soon!

Happy Monday

Monday, October 3, 2011
Hi Everyone,

This is what I worked on this weekend.

It is the Bunting / Banner panel from Delighted. It was a stunt sewing project for Amanda for her launch party in SLC so I have to get it in the mail to her. I just have 3 more medallion, ribbon, button combos to do.

What did you do this weekend?

New fabric coming today (I think) Rendezvous from Khristian A. Howell and Anthology. I think it is so elegant and different.

I just had to share the new little faces that were born to Harbor House at Heartline in Haiti this week...

How precious is that? I could just eat 'em up :)

Talk soon!
