Friday Fun Day... the Giveaway (of Course)...I Win!... and Cards

Friday, July 15, 2011
Hi Everyone,

Are you ready to get your Summer wardrobe on? Check out this adorable skirt tutorial from Johanna on The Quilted Fish's blog

Anyone that had purchased from my shop before can tell you that I send a "Thank You" card with each order. It was getting a little expensive so while Joann had a sale on paper crafting stuff I stocked up on cards. Erin and I decided to decorate them yesterday. So the next few weeks you will be getting hand made cards by us :) Mine are terrible but if you get one of Erin's that is a treasure :)

The kitchen table at craft time

Some of Erin's cards

Some more of Erin's cards

Okay this is a very abbreviated short story of my life... If you don't want to hear it skip to the giveaway below... if you decide to read just remember it has a happy ending. About 11 yrs ago my ex-husband decided that he was in love with someone else and left me with a 2 yr old and nothing. Took all of the money out of the checking account the whole nine yards. Since he was in the Army all of our household goods followed him. Including my amazing never missed a stitch never needed repairs Viking sewing machine. For anyone that has been a sewer for any length of time you know there are just some machines you never want to be without. So the machine I loved my amazing Selectronic 6570 was lost forever. (he didn't do paperwork to keep the storage, free storage, so they took everything and auctioned it) There ensued the seemingly endless quest to find a machine that could ever match up to my old girl. None ever has. Cut to a year ago. I found two Machines on Ebay that were similar to my old one (one almost exact just a different color) so I bought them knowing they would take work to get going. I thought I would use parts from one to fix the other (this worked great) thanks to a father that was extremely mechanically oriented I had no worries about pulling the screws out and getting my hands dirty. These are all mechanical machines so no worries about electronics or anything. I took them apart fixed the best one with parts from the other. Just one thing I didn't feel comfortable doing myself (gear timing is scary) so I sent it off to the hospital this week. Thanks to Dr. Joe and the Electric hospital it is back. I am thrilled and excited and I have a perfect 1/4 inch seam again with no guess work. No skipped stitches no sideways sewing from motors that aren't tough enough to handle my pedal to the metal style. I am just so so happy. So I Win! I now have the best husband ever and the best sewing machine ever!

On to the Giveaway... well of course it has to be Farm Fresh... this is an adorable collection so many possibilities. The winner this week will get a fat quarter pack of the green colorway (including the red gingham and red dots that are not here yet)

Imagine you see red gingham and red dots in the picture :)

Rules:

1. Go to the Coming Soon page and let me know which of the fabric lines you are most anxious to see in the shop. I added a ton yesterday (now just waiting for pics of Amy Butler's new line) so go check them out. Leave a comment letting me know what you like best.

The giveaway, as always, goes until midnight next Friday, July 22nd.

See ya tomorrow with the winners of the Terrain charm packs.

Talk soon.
