Hi Everyone,

A fat eighth bundle of the Sapphire Colorway of Heirloom... yes I know that was predictable but I think you all don't mind so much.

Here is another in progress picture of my Habitat Challenge quilt:

It is getting funner (yes, I said funner) :)

Here is a sneak peek of the bag I am making as a tutorial for the next Newsletter:

Well, okay, it is only the pocket but still....

I have had a bunch of clients and friends send me pictures of things they have been making out of the fabrics they have received from me so I thought I would show you...

Caren won a charm pack of Terrain from me. She made this adorable Peacock:

Why not hop over to her blog and tell her cute you think it is?

Helen (don't know if she has a blog) made these adorable dresses with Pernilla's Journey she says she can't keep them in the shop they are gone in minutes....

My friend Melissa in Australia bought the entire line of Wrenly and Pernilla's Journey and has been making children's dresses with them for craft markets:

You can go check out the rest of them on her blog

In Shop news... Delighted and Little Apples are on their way... woot! Should have them both by the middle to end of next week if not sooner. I love this picture of Delighted from Amanda.

You all should go over and like Amanda on Facebook she has been doing some really fun stuff (giveaways) that you don't want to miss out on.

So how's that for some eye candy people? It is a very good day :)

Hi Everyone,

He leaves tonight for his mom's then off to college in Texas. So since I can't get to the camera here are some more free quilt patterns for you. Fabric lines that I have in the shop right now.

(can I just say I love that one???!!!)

I would be happy to kit any of these up for you. Especially that Heirloom one LOL... I promise to be back full force tomorrow. My Glamp is finished and I have to show you a sneak peek before the big reveal on Thursday.

A Sneaker Peeker

Monday, July 25, 2011
Hi Everyone,

Here is a sneaker peeker of just one of Brooke's tutorials that will be in my newsletter this month. Isn't she the bomb? I mean really? Don't miss signing up for the newsletter (in the upper right hand corner of the blog) if you don't want to miss out on this and a few other things up my sleeve. As always it will be out the last day of the month.

I got no sewing done this weekend. I was totally bombarded with orders and some of the bolts of Pernilla's Journey are more than half gone already. This fabric is so amazing in person. It is so soft and drapey that it feels more like lawn or voile than quilting cotton. It is amazing! I need to take more pictures of it. Sometimes I completely mis-judge what people are going to buy and this is one of those times. I guess because the green and black are the ones I love I thought everyone would... but I think I sold more of the Chocolate over the weekend. The pink elephants are more than half gone already so I might have to see if I can order another bolt... they are so stinkin' cute!

Heirloom is gorgeous as we all knew it would be and it has almost a linen feel to it... smashing!

Sorry for all of the wordiness today... Have a great Monday!

A winner, 69 new fabrics....and a Pinnie

Saturday, July 23, 2011
Hi Everyone,

Heirloom and Pernilla's Journey came yesterday:
This picture cannot convey the total invasion... I have 1/3rd more fabric than I had before it came. Heirloom is way more gorgeous then even I expected it to be and Pernilla's Journey has detail...oh so amazing...

My new friend Jennifer is a huge Joel Dewberry fanatic and she couldn't wait another second to come over and make her hand picked selections... she was so sweet and brought me this adorable new Pinnie:

She made it out of felted sweaters and even put purple pins in it... it matches my logo... so sweet!

Okay I know all you really wanted to know what who won the giveaway:

Oh, my Lord! I can't believe what you had to endure! I'm SO glad yours turned into a happy story because, after all, happiness is the best revenge. But still, there must have been some days ... oh my! Talk about stress. I'm glad those days are over for you.

I seem to be especially smitten with Taza by Dena Designs for Free Spirit Fabrics. July! That's NOW!

I will be emailing Heather... I also promise never to tell my life story in a giveaway post again... LOL I really was not looking for sympathy I am so happy now and way better off than I would have been had this all not happened. I love my life and it is amazing and wonderful and all I do is count my blessings now... no sadness on my behalf please!

Friday Fun Day (delayed a bit) & The Giveaway

Friday, July 22, 2011
Hi Everyone,

I didn't get much sleep last night (Too excited about Heirloom and Pernilla's Journey coming today I think).

Some of the almost 39 prints in Heirloom
Our Friday Tutorial for The Quilted Fish is going to be slightly delayed today. So I thought you might like to see this fun tutorial from Sew Take A Hike a diaper wristlet with changing pad out of Laurie Wisbrun's new fabric, so cute!

On to the Giveaway... today I decided to let you pick your own. I am giving away a $25 gift certificate to my shop. You get to pick your own prize. You can even save it for future use with one of the fun lines that is coming later.

Okay this one you get to work for as well... Here is my favorite quote that uses the word "Intrepid":

"She'd not known she had it in her. She was feeling...well...rather intrepid..." Chloe Zanders - Dark Highlander by Karen Marie Moning (honestly if you haven't read her you don't know what your missing)

So your mission if you choose to accept it is... either come up with your own quote that uses the word Intrepid or find one from somewhere else. This is still a random giveaway so no matter the quote you can win. But I will be choosing a few for the pages of my website in the future.

Leave one comment with your entry quote and good luck. Giveaway runs until next Friday July 29th at midnight.

See you in a little while with a treasure of a tutorial from Jana...

I saw something fun last night...

Thursday, July 21, 2011
Hi Everyone,

I just happened to be on Twitter when Marisa posted a picture of Meet The Gang that she received.

That really gets the creative juices flowing. It is too bad we have to wait another 4 months to get our hands on some...

But at least a little of this:

Joel Dewberry Heirloom

And this:

Tina Givens Pernilla's Journey
Will be here tomorrow! So exciting!

Happy Monday, More FWQAL, and Source For Inspiration

Monday, July 18, 2011
Hi Everyone,

I made 6 blocks over the weekend in an effort to catch up on the FWQAL:

Farmer's Wife Block #7

Farmer's Wife Block #8

Farmer's Wife Block #9

Farmer's Wife Block #10

Farmer's Wife Block #11

Farmer's Wife Block #12
Now I think I just have to do 4 this week to be caught up to the rest of the group... I am really enjoying making these especially with my new old machine :)

Since I showed you all this:

I have had a lot of requests for tutorials and the like. I would so love to do that, unfortunately I learned this in a class and the person I learned from only had one stipulation, that we not teach others. She said we can sell what we make with her techniques but not teach because that is what she does. I totally respect that. So if you want to take her class here is a link:  http://christytomlinson.typepad.com/christytomlinson/workshops.html

I also wanted to give you a free source of inspiration, I know sometimes it is hard to come up with a few extra dollars to do something that you might not even like once you start... I like to save my money for fabric too :) ... so please check out one of the most creative women I have ever seen.... (okay you scrapbookers already know her I am sure) Her name is Donna Downey and she is really amazing. High energy and so much fun to watch. On her blog (at the link) you will find a link on the left side to Inspiration Wednesdays, every Wednesday she does a video post with some piece of art she works on... it will give you so many ideas... once she did a whole week full and I watched everyday. I find inspiration for sewing everywhere and this is no exception. As with anything enter this world at your own risk... it is an expensive hobby :)

So why is it happy Monday?

Because I found out that Heirlooma nd Pernilla's Journey will be here on Friday... yay! So many pretty fabrics.
Have a great day!
